Fellow freckle-faced gals!

Megan, on February 1, 2018 at 3:08 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12

Now that I'm starting to think about hair/makeup for my wedding day I am wondering what options I have as a heavily freckled lady. I feel like typical foundation/cover up would not work well with my complexion-- do I just highlight my eyes and lips? I would LOVE to see your photos of your wedding day makeup if you have any or if you have any good recommendations for good makeup artists (if you happen to be in the Kansas City area!) that know there way around a freckle or two (or fifteen thousand). Thanks gorgeous gals!

I would look into airbrush. They can apply it super light so that you can still see your freckles but it will even out any other redness.

Tell us where you are located or what area you need a MUA so people can give suggestions. A good, experienced MUA will be able to guide you and during a trial will show you the difference with the freckles showing and with them covered. A nice, light airbrush should work well.

You are so lovely and I love those freckles!

I had the makeup artist Apply light coverage, and concealer where needed. I didn't want to mask my freckles.

Maybe cc cream It Cosmetics has a really nice CC cream I would go with Fair. It was great and it has a nice Dewey finish. Unfortunately it was too dark for me. But I think it would work really nicely for you

My MUA loved working with my freckles. She used airbrush foundation which gave great coverage but didn't "mask" my freckles. Here are pics from my trial as well as the actual wedding day. The first pic was taken by my MUA's professional camera, whereas the rest of the pics were taken with cell phone cameras (still waiting for my pro pics), but I think you can still see the freckles.

As a fellow freckled woman I think you are greatly underestimating your freckles lol, I have worn very heavy stage makeup and my freckles were still visible, a good makeup artist will be able to choose a nice light to medium cover foundation that will even out your skin tone for pictures but not cover your freckles. You will definitely still want some sort of foundation because it reflects light better for pictures than just bare natural skin.
