Fiancé broke up with me

Nicole, on December 28, 2021 at 3:40 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 3
I would like to get some support from people in this forum.

We were together for 2 years. He proposed on our first year anniversary. We were electrical at first but after our engagement we started having issues because we would fight a lot over insignificant things such as cleaning the bench top or the spot on the sofa.
When we were not fighting the relationship was amazing. He got along really well with my family. We broke up and got back together a few times and I suggested doing some therapy but we did one session and after that he said he didn’t think it was going to work, he was scared of getting married in the state of our relationship and broke up with me. Our wedding was supposed to be in 3 months time.
We have put so much money into this wedding and the venue will not refund any of our money.
I am devastated and I am really in love with him. I thought we could work through our issues but he gave up on us.

As awful as this sounds, losing out money on the wedding is a lot better than spending money later on on a divorce. That still really sucks, though Smiley sad Was his reasoning just being scared for ending it?

Kris is right! It’s painful but the financial loss is so much less than divorce. He clearly is not ready for marriage if he decided to bail instead of work it out. Be thankful this happened early on. So sorry though!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. If you booked a honeymoon I would go on it and maybe bring a friend. Just take this time for yourself to grieve the life you thought you were going to have.
