Fiji or Greek Island August Honeymoon?

Alyssa, on February 11, 2019 at 11:25 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6
These are our top places (but still open to suggestions). Anyone stayed in Fiji or a greek island? Where do you recommend? If you've been to both which do you recommend?

Considering resorts for Fiji mostly, hotels in an island if we go greek.

We want low key, warm, beaches. He doesnt do seafood if that matters. Thank you!

I've never been international so I'm really excited!

I went to the Greek islands and I would suggest going somewhere else on a honeymoon. Especially Fiji it looks beautiful! The Greek islands weren’t exactly super warm and the beaches were very rocky. Things aren’t really what you see in pictures there. I hope this helps!!

When I went to the islands I went to Santorini,
Naxos, Mykonos, and Hydra. Is where is spent the most time. I also went to Paros and Ithaca and Athens (I know that’s not an island lol). I was there for over two weeks and I was a little disappointed. I saw the pictures and it looked quite different. A lot was boarded up and blocked off and high wood walls built around things that made it much less picturesque then what I thought. I still loved it to learn and go on tours and I think it’s somewhere everyone should visit, but for a fun romantic honeymoon I would suggest elsewhere.

I went to Fiji two weeks ago for our honeymoon and I would highly recommend it. It was beautiful and quiet and the people are so nice. If you go you would fly to the main island Nadi. If you want what you see in pictures go to one of the smaller islands (we were on the yasawa islands and they were great). Most of the islands have only one hotel so the food is included in their packages. We stayed at Paradise Cove and the food was amazing I can't say enough about how good it was and there is a lot of it and they change dinner menus every two days. The food offered plenty of non fish options too. They have food lamb and beef and chicken. They also have great snorkeling just off the shore. They have free activities and ones you can pay for like fishing. We stayed in the adult only area of paradise cove and it was nice and quiet and the rooms were bigger. If you can afford it I would do Fiji all the way. If you can spend at least one day on the main land you need to go do the mud pools they were so much fun! If you decide to stay on the mainland they have a very tourist area with big name hotels like Sheraton but the beaches aren't the same because they are reclaimed mangroves so the smaller islands are better.

Yeah you can Google paradise cove and that's the resort. It was all inclusive in a way. It was the only hotel on the island so you got food from the and the room and a handful of the activities are included like we did snorkeling, fish feeding, kayaking around the island, hiking and more. Everything is included besides alcohol which you would pay for. I think for us it always around $6,000 for flights, 5 nights on the small island two nights on the main island, boat ride to and from, some food and some activities, and food on the small island. I know it is expensive but it was so worth it we want to go back again soon. Here is the link to the hotel we were at: http://www.paradisecoveresortfiji.com/
