Fiji, Turks & Caicos or Thailand for Honeymoon?

Keyla, on February 18, 2017 at 2:24 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13

Hey! I'm getting married August 2018 and we are debating between having our honeymoon in Fiji, Turks and Caicos or Thailand. Any opinions will be helpful!

My fiancé and I are very adventurous so we would really like some fun activities to do while on our honeymoon. We do, however, love the beach and want to have some nice down time.

For anyone who has been to any of these, please share your opinions.

PICTURES WILL HELP!!

Thanks. Smiley smile

Ive been to Turks (November 2013) it was absolutely amazing!! They have a festival one day of the week where locals and tourists both come together...there's music food and shopping...definitely a great deal of fun!!

I was looking at Thailand and Fiji pretty seriously but even living in California, the flights are so long. From what I read there is no such thing as a direct flight from anywhere in the US to anywhere in Thailand. So it just depends on how long you are willing to fly and where you are located. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of those!

I went to turks and Caicos for my grandparents vow renewal. It was gorgeous and the compound had tons of activities to do while there. We went snorkeling, my family went to harvest conch and sand dollars and the guy made conch salads with their coaches before they came back, you could ride horses on the beach and other stuff. It was a great time and I didn't want to leave. ETA: it rains on and off there but they are just quick bursts usually. When it rained I stayed in my lounge chair cause I would dry off faster than chair and it was a cold rain and it usually only lasted a couple minutes.

We are going to Thailand and Bali! I looked into Fiji but Thailand is more reasonably priced once you get there. We are staying at Santhiya on Koh Yao Yai for $86 a night. This is our room. Perfect for getting over jet lag!

    Keyla,

All of the destinations are amazing. Turks and Caicos, of course much closer to the east coast and mid west regions. Your decision needs to look at the time you have for your honeymoon and your budget. Also, consider what style of honeymoon you want, amenities and activity. If you are looking at the exotic honeymoon and gave 9- 10 days for travel, then Thailand, Bali or Fiji may work. If your time is more constrained you may want to take a closer look at Turks and Caicos.

If you're wanting adventure and a unique time- I wouldn't do Turks. I would be leaning towards Thailand if you want adventure

It depends on how much time you have and, of course, budget. Flights to Fiji and Thailand aren't easy but easy to get to Turks and Caicos. Turks and Caicos is great for scuba diving and a few other things but for really big adventure, Thailand would be my recommendation.

We stayed in a small, secluded resort in Fiji and we LOVED it. It wasn't touristy, no sports bars, TV sets, cell reception. That was our idea of paradise. Awesome diving, snorkeling, daily activities hosted by the resort (with a maximum guest load of about 35). Pure bliss. Of course, there were larger resorts on other islands than the one we stayed on (Beqa) so it depends on what you are looking for.
