Filipino-american ceremony outside of church using cord & veil

Penni, on May 29, 2018 at 12:56 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 3
Any Filipino-American brides or brides to be a marrying a catholic Filipino but are choosing to have a non denominational ceremony? Does anyone know how to incorporate the traditional Filipino cord & veil tradition into the ceremony? We’re getting married outside of church but would still love to incorporate this tradition to honor his parents & heritage!

Your officiant should be able to handle this for you. My FH is Mexican and we are having a non-denominational ceremony but with elements from the traditional Mexican/Catholic wedding (arras and lazo). Our officiant gave us a list of things to choose and she will figure out how to make it all flow together.

Hi Penni! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring I think you should check out this Filipino Brides Discussion for further guidance. One member specifically discussed how she and her husband incorporated the veil and cords in a personalized, non-traditional way!

    Good luck!
