Filipino wedding not in church - length

Charlene, on November 2, 2018 at 10:52 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
Hi,

I’m not getting married in a church but would still like to include the Traditional parts of a Filipino Wedding ceremony. With out the readings and parts of a mass that’s in a traditional church wedding, how long does it take? Trying to figure out a timeline for the contract of when the ceremony should start.

And what order do you do it in? When do the rings come in?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I would speak to your officiant about this since the script will determine the length of the ceremony. However, as a ballpark, if a Filipino ceremony is anything like a catholic ceremony, then I would guess 20-30 minutes once you remove the readings and communion.

Check out Officiant Eric for ceremony samples. It will help you to understand how it should flow and what should be done when. It was a HUGE help for me.

Hello I am filipino and incorporating mine as well the traditions however I just witnessed my cousins wedding in July I was apart of it. My golly I love her she is literally my little sister but that ceremony was LONG mostly because her vows were amazing but LONG. GIRL LONG lol.

Your ceremony will be like an hour. Including rings vows readings all that. Normal weddings ceremony is 30min to an hour but they dont have that and ceremony is literally done within 20 minutes or so I would give your contract atleast 1 hour to 1.5 if anything.

@WED18 I think our officiant is going to be a friend so we’d really be providing him the info.

@Arlene thank you. We Won’t be doing the readings I don’t think. Just the Rose, veil, cord, coins, rings, vows, unity candle, kiss the bride. No 1st & 2nd readings, no communion.
