Finding a venue

Amanda, on December 3, 2019 at 7:59 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
My fiancé and I want a vet popular date for October 2020. Any advice on how to find a venue for that date? I’ve contacted 20 venues and only one has the date. They don’t have what I need fully so I’ll have to pay for more stuff. Any advice?

Look into community centers, fire halls or VFWs. Depending on where you live it’ll probably be close to impossible to find a traditional wedding venue for 10/10/20. That’s supposed to be next year’s most popular date.

I agree with PP about thinking outside of the box when it comes to venues. All you can do is continue reaching out. Venues book up super early, let alone for such a popular date. You may have to compromise on what you're looking for in a venue or your date.

I agree with Sarah and Caytlyn. Because you're less than a year out and hoping for such a popular date, you'll probably have to make some sacrifices in what you have as your venue if the date is that important to you. Every bride is different, but personally I would focus on finding exactly what you want/need in your venue rather than having a certain date. The date you get married on will be special either way Smiley smile

I agree with PPs! You could, also, look further out from where you live. We're getting married an hour & a half away from where we live. I was set on getting married on Leap Day and really wanted to get married in our current city. I had a hard time finding something with indoor space for the ceremony & reception, large enough for all our guests, and reasonably priced. Ultimately, we expanded our search to the next state (an hour and a half from where we live), and we found the perfect venue about 10 minutes away from FH's hometown!

My fiancé and I wanted a september 2020 wedding but we realized every venue and vendor around was basically booked already. We decided to push it back to September 2021 so we could get exactly what we wanted, but even with doing that the first date we wanted for our venue was booked!!

My wedding is 10/10/2020. I booked it back in August. I think at this point, you're going to have a really hard time finding a venue for that month. When we were searching, my fiance and I said we'd LIKE to get married in October but we ultimately agreed that if we found a venue we'd take an available date. Trying to find something for next year, you might have to settle for a different date.
