Finger fractures and manicures

Emily , on September 13, 2019 at 3:14 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4
Hello ladies,

I am in a bit of a pickle.

I smashed my middle and ring finger on my right hand, thus fracturing those two fingers. So what had happened was... I was closing my garage door underhanded and it was about at squirrel height so I didn't want my hands to get stuck. I put my palms on the panel of the garage door and in a millisecond my middle and ring finger got caught in the joints and the door locked. I tried to squat down with my hand in its little vice to try to pull up but I couldn't. Thankfully Ben had just gotten off work and he initially tried to use his truck key to jimmy me out but the key broke in half. Thankfully he is part bob the builder and had a crowbar in his truck and was able to get my middle finger out but told me that I had to pull the rest of the way for my ring finger on my right hand. It is my first broken bones, they are fractured.

I fractured them on August 30th.. my wedding is Oct 5th. With this being said, I want a manicure to hopefully cover them up but I was wondering if fake nails, gel nails, or something would be the best fit?

Any help would be incredible.

I would ask your doctor, and see how your hand feels closer to October 5. I feel like fake nails (I have them on all the time) are rougher on your hands and fingers during the process of getting them on, while gel can be a little more gentle?

Breaks are usually healed in six weeks, so they should be about healed by the time your wedding comes. Bruising and swelling are usually gone way ahead of that. So really unless you have blood under the fingernail, which has to just grow out with the nail, you shouldn’t have to worry about how your hands look.
I get gel on my nails all the time. It will definitely cover any bruising/discoloration you may have left under the nails from your injury. I would be cautious about getting fake nails for your wedding if you’re not used to them. I personally would feel like they get in the way and would get irritated with them. I hope you feel better soon!

Oh gosh, Emily. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Wishing you a speedy recovery Smiley heart

As the PP mentioned, I would also advise you speak with your doctor and see what he/she would recommend. It may be well healed at this point.
