He realized that food was the way to my heart and didn't judge me for it. Also when we joked about "our future kids" and he didn't freak out like most guys do.

When he was about to be deployed for 11 months overseas and he gave me a total no strings attached chance to leave after 2 years of being together because he didn't want to put me through something so difficult. I knew right then that I wouldn't give up on him and I couldn't let him face something like that alone, I was in it for the long haul no matter what. We made it through the hardest thing we'll probably ever have to face.

He was willing to travel to the middle of nowhere Iowa to spend the weekend with me for 3.5 years before we lived in the same city

We worked together and just hit it off. He asked me out and during the whole 1st day he was shy and afraid to eat. I remember thinking....aha....im going to marry this guy cause he wont take food off my plate.

One day before we started dating seriously, I was having an incredible bad day( we worked together at one point different areas though) anyway as I was leaving today I stopped to say goodbye and turned to leave( my bad day was in my body language and all over my face) he called me back and met me halfway and handed me this tiny note. So once I got outside and started walking to the train I opened it and it said "I love you" , call me tonight if you need to! I was caught off guard, this note changed my day and made me feel like he could be "my one". 😊

No specific moment but I think by 2 months into the relationship we knew we were going to get married. 2 years later he proposed!

So embarrassing but I was only 20 years old haha. I had a cystic pimple on my nose and the makeup that was covering it rubbed off and instead of being grossed out by it or thinking it or I was ugly, he very sweetly put pimple cream on it for me and then said nothing else of it. Then that same weekend (we were long distance and he was visiting me) I started to cry cause I was sad he was leaving and he blew my nose for me and kissed my blotchy, runny-nosed, tear-stained-cheek self. Yeah I knew for sure after that visit lol. Also we were great on our first road trip together and I always heard you can tell a lot about a couple by the way they travel together. We’re great co-travelers/road trippers hahaha

From The moment we met. We met each other one day, two days later we were introducing each other to our families. We were able to spend 5 days together before he deployed for 7 months. 10 months apart total. Lots of letters and emails later, he came back home and we haven't spent a day apart. We'll have been together for three years this October on our wedding day!

When we were on a long car ride and I had fallen asleep, I woke up and the car was stopped and he wasn't in it. He came walking to the car with a blanket and a pillow that he bought from Target. He is honestly the most caring person I have ever met.

It was mostly a building thing but there was a moment in particular that completely captivated me. Sort of a long story but I love sharing it! We took a mini-trip together (met up in the city we would both soon be living in) and went hiking. We came across two fairly out of shape and panicked adults, who were trying to calm down two kids on a rock who were screaming and crying. Apparently they had climbed up and there was a rattlesnake nearby scaring them, the adults were both afraid and just telling the kids to be careful and climb down. My fiance took initiative and went up and helped the kids down and reassured everyone that "it was just a scary situation and everyone is okay now". The way he immediately jumped into action without being condescending to the panicked adults really showed me who he is. There were multitudes of encounters with homeless people when we would walk downtown as well that just spoke to his character. Smiley smile
