Fire Chaplain Officiant

Kelsie, on April 3, 2019 at 11:54 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 2

I know it's probably not common, but I was wondering if anyone on here has had a fire chaplain officiate their wedding? FH is a firefighter and neither of us are super religious, so I thought it might be nice if the chaplain at his department could officiate. I was also thinking it might be nice that he deals with firefighters for premarital counseling, just as another point of view.

FH has just been putting off asking, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has happened to have any experiences? Or even been to a wedding that they know a fire chaplain officiated?

    Hi Kelsie!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

Having the fire chaplain officiate your wedding sounds like a lovely idea!

Has your FH spoken with any of the other firefighters in his house to see if they’ve been to a wedding where the fire chaplain officiated? Or perhaps he could speak with his captain first? It’s likely that if the chaplain has officiated a wedding before, they would have been guests!

Where is the ceremony taking place?

Thank you! And he actually just spoke with his mentor yesterday about this, and good news, his department has a few chaplains that we could choose to use! I'm super excited.

The ceremony will be in Lexington, SC!
