Fire Hall Weddings

BeeRodMul, on November 15, 2013 at 9:03 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

FI and I are planning a wedding at a fire hall. I don't know where to start on decor. We're already planning to have some uplighting and DIYing some drapes on certain walls, but what else? I don't even know the right set up for the room. For brides who had a wedding at a fire hall, how did you manage to decorate your room?

I didn't have mine at a fire hall. But I have been to wedding's at firehalls. They used chair covers and up lights had fantastic center pieces made the tables really the focal point. I would do that then try to made the walls the focal point.

    Thans IrishLove for the suggestion.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Looks great! I might do some up lighting or get Christmas light and tulle if you can swag the walls. Maybe an arbor or something for behind head table or cake table. Everything adds up really fast, and nice centerpieces would draw attention to party and liven it up.

ok I misread your post. If you are getting married there and not just reception, I would suggest putting chairs lined up in middle for an ailse, you can always use and aisle runner, and push tables off to sides of room. Chairs can be picked up easily and removed. If that is a stage, like it looks, have ceremony on stage. Good thing is that there are no obnoxious columns in middle of room to block the view.

We're not having our ceremony there, Susan. We're having a church ceremony. It's just for the reception.

I'm not a fan of having a head table (want the bridal party to sit with their partners/families) or an arbor. We're planning a sweetheart table but don't know where to place it. I want to use the stage for the DJ.

Mine is called lenola firehall in moorestown nj. Luckily the place is redone and looks very elegant inside and it has dimming lights however I'm going to add flowers and Christmas lights around also going to maybe do shadow box lights... dimmed lighting is the key in most places that need heavy deco. Draperies and anything to keep attention away from walls

@Lynnie Pin, we're planning to use uplighting and changing the drapes to look more presentable.
