So I am a nanny, my choice of work. I love it, I love children. I am a child development major. So I am a nanny, my choice of work. I love it, I love children. I am a child development major. Monday I went to work and started not feeling well, as I was around sick children at a family get together over the weekend (I did still work 11 hours). Tuesday my boss told me to stay home so her kids didn't get sick. Well, yesterday I got a text message from her saying she no longer needed a nanny because she enrolled her 2 boys into full-time day care.

I hated my job but it was the only one I had. And I hated it because of the way the boys and the parents treated me. Getting death threats from a 4 y/o isn't fun, especially when the parents just tell me to be patient and that he is going through a difficult change from age 4 to age 5. Ugh! But now, with so many wedding expenses left, I have no job. And FH and I were only getting help from his parents to pay for the food...everything else we are paying for.

I just feel very overwhelmed now and idk what to do. :/

I'm so sorry that happened, but it definitely sounds like a blessing in disguise. Good luck finding a new job, I really don't know what to recommend, but I'm sure things will still work out, it's just hard to see that right now.

On a side note, I want to thank all of those who are nannies and work at daycares. My FH and I are both in the same field and one day when we have kids I know neither of us will be able to stay at home. So I'm sure at some point we'll be using a nanny or daycare. I am just grateful for people out there that love helping take care of kids that aren't even their own, and I can't imagine treating any nanny that poorly. So thank you for doing such an amazing job!

I am sorry to hear that! I hope you find something quick!

BTW- I have a 4 year old and will be 5 in Jan. (not soon but still going from 4-5) and he's is not making death threats! This may be something you actually find for the better. It's going to be tough at first, but I think you'll land something way better! Good luck!

Is there something you can jump on quick just to get some income? I was in a real bind a few years ago and needed a job I wouldn't care about quitting shortly after but needed some cash. Within a week of applying I got a job at wal mart as a cashier for a couple of months. Of course the pay wasn't great but held me over in the meantime. Some money is better than no money!!
