Fireworks Surprise

Sara, on June 4, 2021 at 10:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
We are planning fireworks at our reception 🤗Our wedding planner brought up the idea that we can make it a surprise by performing our first dance outside and then having fireworks go off at the end of the dance. I love this idea, but we have an entire choreographed dance and there is no real dance floor outside. I would feel more comfortable performing the dance inside on the dance floor. How else can we get everyone outside but not ruin the surprise? I don’t want the DJ to announce something like “please join us outside for a surprise” I think that will be too obvious. Any ideas?

Can it be part of a grand exit?

Also, not to ruin the excitement, but please make sure no one on your guest list has an aversion to fireworks. I'd probably have a panic attack in that situation and that sort of thing kind of takes away from the fun.

That’s a good idea! But our wedding is probably going to go until like 11:30 and I’m thinking too many people would have left by that point 😭 Good point about the panic attack. I’ll think of any guests I might need to warn

Hmm that does make it more difficult. You said you're doing a choreographed dance... could you include a part at the end where you guys like dance your way outside and have guests follow you? Is that tacky? lol

Hahaha I feel like they would be confused about where we were going and if they should follow 🤣

I was thinking maybe if I did the bouquet toss outside? Or maybe the groom removing the garter? And then after he got it we could do a small romantic dance and then fireworks could go off? I’m just trying to think about how I can make this all flow together lol
