Fireworks

Tiffany, on October 30, 2016 at 12:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

Me and fiancé have been thinking about having a firework show done as our send off. Has anyone had this done or been to a wedding that had it? We are a big concerned with the price being extremely expensive? Any ideas on pricing?

It's a lot. Like in the high thousands if not more.

It's going to be expensive. If you want a type of fireworks, why not just use sparklers?

I'm sure it would be extremely expensive. As a guest I'd rather see that money go towards food/drink lol.

Be prepared to drop at least 5k, there is a lot of work that goes into choreographing fireworks (I'm licensed to do commercial pyrotechnics) and all of the permitting and whether or not it is even feasible where your venue is

Fireworks are expensive! Well unless you have the budget for it.

You'll need to check with the venue and the city. In my city, we are a no fireworks city and we have a "curfew" for noise.

I actually looked into this (briefly) and then laughed when I saw the price. It started at about $5K for a small display..

Thanks guys I def think they are going to be pricey we are having a small wedding at the Perot Museum here in Dallas so we are saving money with our small guest list and have been thinking of fun ways for a send off and they can shoot the fireworks off the building (very cool) I agree with you all it may be far fetched lol

Personal opinion? Fireworks are a bit excessive for a wedding, especially if you want a smaller wedding.

You don't have to have the huge displays. They sell party poppers at Walmart that guests can pull the string on and even sparklers. You can have a firework send off without spending a ton of money to have an excessive display.

My venue offers it for 2500 to add to their package and they're beautiful. I don't think we are doing them.

But yes they can be sooooooo expensive. I know a couple who "humble bragged" that it was like 10,000.

Hah I'd recommend a sparkler send off. That's what I'm doing.

It's like $5,000 and up. Friends of mine had fireworks at their wedding before the sparkler send off. It was absolutely beautiful but not necessary.

I have been obsessed with fireworks since I was really small. If it is in your budget and your venue allows it, I say go for it! Regardless of how big or small your wedding is. I mean, is it necessary? No. Is it excessive? Yeah. But it's fireworks for crying out loud. Fireworks are always a yes from me.

I don't care if the wedding is large or small its your day and do what YOU BOTH want. If you want fireworks and have the budget do it. You need to make ehe memories that you and your SO will share for the rest of your life. This is one day, right but it is filled with so many memories. Do what you and your SO wish to do.

We are and we aren't, BUT circumstances are wildly different.

We will be having a lunchtime ceremony and reception at Disney World. Because our food/beverage minimums are so high ($125/pp) we are choosing to split it up between lunch and an optional private dessert party that evening at Epcot. We have to pay a $19/pp fee, plus a small venue rental fee (something like $150, I think), and we have a prime, private spot to watch the fireworks with our guests and a full buffet of desserts of our choosing as well as an open bar. We will be able to watch the Illuminations show and get photos and just have a nice gathering after the wedding with whoever feels like coming.

So it won't be nearly as expensive, BUT we are also paying on the other end of things, AND it isn't like the show is just for us. Still, it's quite a show, and I think our guests will love it!

My friend had fireworks at her wedding. It was really expensive. She hired a professional company and she had to pay for the fire department to be on site.
