I am working on booking everything for our Honeymoon and I am wondering whats everyones opinion of First Class seats. I am looking at upgrading out tickets there (not roundtrip) and its about $200 a piece for first class. Has anyone else made this decision? Whats your thoughts?

I've flown first class on a relatively short flight and didn't see the need at all. I agree with the other posters that you can get more out of your money in other ways.

I just took Delta to Cancun in First Class this month. Here are some of the perks

Free Luggage- So minus that out of the cost. Would cost you each $50 round trip.

First Class Lounge- No lounge in Cancun only in US. It was nice to stop in to get a bite to eat and drinks before take off. If your stop has a lounge that would be great

Drinks are Free- I normally have one or two so subtract that .

Food was good. I had a wonderful dinner

    Free Headsets blanket pillow

Seat was ok. It was roomy but not as comfortable at Virgin America ( I took that in July OMG)

I always upgrade as a travel agent! If you can do it I feel its worth it. It is your honeymoon. $200 is not expensive for First Class and they don't upgrade for free. Our flight was empty on the way home and nobody was allowed to switch.

Thank you for all the advice on it. I know it a short flight for the upgrade, but I am going to go for it anyways. It will be a nice treat for us!

It's very tempting and knowing me, I would probably do it lol. But I would also ask the attendant while you're waiting for your flight. I asked ours and it was too much to upgrade, but we ended up getting upgraded on our last flight home! I've never drank so much in an hour and a half haha. Let them know it's your honeymoon!

That is a great deal, I would! I looked to upgrade our flight and it was going to cost me like $1000! I wish I had done more research before but I'll save that for another trip instead.

I would try and pay extra fro the emergency row if you want leg room. With a connecting flight- a short one at that, I don't think it's worth it. I agree, spend the money on the excursions.

I wouldn't do it. I first class pretty regularly and the types of planes that you're going to be on to go from Atlanta to Cancun isn't going to make the $400 worth it. I was once upgraded to a pod in first class and would TOTALLY pay $200 for that, but not for the domestic/caribbean first class upgrade.

I dunno. I'd take the extra $400 and put it toward an extra excursion on the resort or a bit of shopping money.
