First Dance before or after dinner?

Just out of curiosity, when are you having your first dance? Right after the Bridal party introductions or right after dinner/cake cutting?

We're planning on doing ours right after our entrance, everyone shoyld have just eaten at cocktail hour, but there will also be bread and salad at the tables. This lets us open up the dance floor after dinner with a traditional Greek dance.

Right after our grand entrance since we will already be up in the dance floor.

We are doing ours after dinner. That's just how I've always seen it done. Ours will go intro, cake cutting, speeches and dinner, then dancing.

Same as @Dreamer, I'm in Northeast too. We will do

    First Dance,

    Tarantalla,

    Seating for First Course,

    Chinese Lion Dance.

Then dancing throughout night. Plenty of cocktail hour food, people will need a break before the meal.

Growing up it was always after dinner. I would say in the last 10 yrs it's been 50/50 of either before or after dinner.

We plan to do our first dance after dinner. We aren't doing the whole formal intro thing. My brother had his first dance before dinner and only two couples danced during the dinner, it's not something really done in our circle.

I'm ok if guests don't really pay attention to the dance, I don't have a huge desire to have a spot light on me.

Our's will be before dinner, because the reception starts at 4:30pm, which is way too early for dinner.

Every wedding I've been to the dances have occurred after dinner.
