First dance, when?

Emma, on August 18, 2020 at 3:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
When did you do/do you plan to do your first dance? Before dinner? Towards the end of but still during dinner? Or completely after dinner?

We are thinking about doing ours right after our entrance, just to get it out of the way. And also so we can spread out all similar events (cake cutting, parent dances, speeches, etc) where we do some before, some during, and some after dinner, rather than doing them all one after another.

We also did ours as soon as we made our entrance. Since everyone was already focused on us it seemed easier than getting everyone’s attention later.

We are going to do ours right after we make our entrance. Plus we will already be on the dance floor so to us it just makes the most sense.

We did ours after dinner before we opened up the dance floor.

We did ours before dinner. We had our grand entrance then immediately went into our first dance.

After we come in from portraits, they will do our grand entrance and announce us, then we will head straight to our first dance, father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, then blessing and dinner.

We are doing dinner first then toasts, first dance and father and mother dances then cake cutting. Then opening up the dance floor to party. So those who don’t really want to stay and dance can eat cake and leave.

We did our first dance right after we were announced into the reception. We did our parent dances after dinner and then opened the dance floor.

We did ours right after our grand entrance following cocktail hour, and then the dance floor opened up. We had an east coast style reception so dinner was a bit later

We're not planning to have announcements upon entering the reception (at one venue) and we've discussed having it during dinner to alleviate any social anxiety that would come with having it after dinner. Plus that would open the dance floor earlier.

We did ours after dinner, to open up the dancing - first dance, parent dances, and then party time.
