5'8" was fake...he *claims* he's 5'7" but I actually think he's closer to 5'6.5"

I met my husband in high school so my first impression of him was that he was shy, quiet, nerdy, but also really sweet and a gentleman. He made the first move though, and apparently he had a crush on me for over a year before he got the courage to ask me out, haha. 🥰

We were in college and I walked into class (on the 2nd day, missed the 1st). Of course you're not there the 1st day, a lot of the seats are taken. There were a couple in FH's area in the back so as I walked into class, we locked eyes and I felt my face flush and I couldn't help but smile.


In my head I was like "awe he's so cute" 😂. We got forced into a group for a class project and once everyone started to get to know each other, I was stuck on that one thought. Have been ever since.

I met my now-husband at work. He was my boss's boss's son (i.e. the owner's son) and started freelancing with our company about a year and a half after I started working there. I thought he was really attractive, really cool and someone I liked being around. However, I was in a serious relationship (i.e. living with my significant other) and never thought about actually being with him.

However, then we went on a business trip together and just clicked in a way that I had never experienced. I knew that my first impression was correct—he was someone I really liked being around, someone I wanted to be around forever. So I ended it with previous boyfriend and DH and I got together. It was messy getting there, but so so worth it.

I worked in the ER & he’s a firefighter/paramedic. I thought he was very cute- who doesn’t love a man in uniform? I was going through a very nasty divorce & he was dealing with his crazy baby mama. We were never supposed to get serious. That was back in ‘99!

And I quote, "You're a Phillies phan, too? The Marlins are killing us right now!" (...The latter was NOT meant to be a prophecy. ...It was.)

Later, on the way home, this text was sent to my dad and my best friend: "I just met the perfect guy, but there's a catch."

(Catch was, he was not yet 23. I had just turned 29.)

In other words, first impression was love at first sight.

I all but went into the relationship intending to be exactly where we are: married, trying to have kids.

Haha so I was actually dating someone else at the time and that person introduced me to my FH, and was like "Oh you two are the same age!" I was 23 and had graduated college and if I had to be honest, my first impression was that he looked waaay too young to be 23 because he grew out his hair a little too long and was wearing a giant college sweatshirt (which usually screams "college freshman" to me.)

We did end up crossing paths again after my boyfriend and I broke up because I was going to start volunteering for our church's youth group, and he also was a volunteer. We got paired up to just get to know each other for one night and a friendship sparked after that!

My first thought was ooh, TDH in the kitchen!

Thought he was handsome and sweet, but wasn't interested. 😂

We actually had a very negative first impression of each other. We met in high school. I was a junior and he was a senior. So...we were in high school in the early 2000's, I use to dance so I was skinnier, dressed a little skimpy, and was boy crazy with a poor attitude and reputation back then. We met because he was a senior in my junior English class. We really didn't talk at first but later when we became friends I told him that I thought he was a dumb*ss and he thought I was easy lol. Obviously, neither of these impressions were true and we laughed it off. This is not the "love at first sight" romantic story but I like to tell it because I think its hilarious how we judged and thought so poorly of each other. Literally judging a book by its cover. But once we actually talked and got to know each other we became the best of friends quickly and have been inseparable since.
