First look or no?

Are you guys doing first looks or have you if your wedding has already happened? What are your thoughts on a first look? I am really conflicted... Thank you!

We are planning to. We wanted to spend as much time with our guests as possible, meaning we can join the cocktail hour. Also, we wanted the 1st time we see each other on our wedding day in our attire to be alone. I think it's more intimate.

I’m against doing the first look with the groom. I feel like it takes away that moment of him seeing you walk down the aisle to say your vows. It’s one of my favorite things during the ceremony is to see the grooms reaction when his fiancée is walking toward him during the ceremony.

However, I am doing a first look with my older brother who is walking me down the aisle. I’ve read about the first looks of the bride and their father. So maybe if you want to do some type of first look, that could be an option! This way, if your groom wants to wait until the ceremony to see you, you can still have a first look with the person walking you down the aisle.

Clicked done before I was done lol

It’s really up to the couples preference...I’ve been in weddings where they have done it and it was very beautiful and I’ve seen it not done. It really depends on what you both want. My best friend did a first look but all the bridesmaids and groomsmen lines the aisle and the bride was at one end and the groom was at the other and the photographer told him when to turn around. It was a beautiful first look. But as some of the ladies have said, it does give you an intimate moment if you choose to do it. I would say, talk with your fiancé and decide together!

That's such a good idea, I am such a crybaby and I feel like he would hold back his emotions in front of everyone.

We ended up skipping it. I kinda wanted one but, when I asked my then fiance, he really wanted to see me walking down the aisle instead. He didn't ask for much with the wedding planning for our mini-COVID wedding (original plan postponed to next year) and I wasn't really attached to the first look idea, so we skipped it.

We are planning to do it next year for our "re-do" as it will also give time to get some wedding pictures done before the ceremony.
