First Look or Wait until you walk down the aisle?

I'm very conflicted on this. I always dreamed of my husband seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle instead of before. I'm just worried about timing. I'm very conflicted on this. I always dreamed of my husband seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle instead of before. I'm just worried about timing. Our wedding coordinator gave us a time of the ceremony starting at 5:30 pm and ending at 6 then 6 to 7 for cocktail hour, 7-8 dinner then 8-11<--end of reception. We can always change the time. But That doesn't give us much time for pictures with each other, the bridal party, our guests as we're getting married in October. I know it's early October but the sun just goes down early then too. I would just want some opinions of what you guys did/are doing! Thank you in advance!! Smiley smile Smiley heart

The time could always be changed, the event planner told us. Was your ceremony and reception at the same place?

I would advise you to do what you want, but a good photographer should know when is best for photos. Luckily, my fiance does photography on the side himself and he knows that what they call "golden hour" is one of the most optimal times to take pictures. You may have to do photos/first look based on your time line. Easier said then done, but I would discuss with your coordinator and photographer what is best. Goodluck! I'm sure it'll all work out in the end!

I’m debating whether to do a first look, will it take away the emotion of us seeing each other when I walk down the aisle?

The other option someone shared here is to have a wall or door between my fiance and myself. We can hold hands and chat a bit before going down the aisle. This helps to relieve a bit of tension beforehand but preserves the first appearance going down the aisle.

For a regular first look though, you can take care of pictures before the ceremony instead of afterwards.

I'm not sure what we'll be doing yet. But I do like the idea of keeping it a surprise.
