First looks have been a major trend for the last few years - and your photographer will definitely ask if you plan on doing one! What do you think about first looks? Are they overrated as a photo op, or still an underrated option? Do you think first looks are overrated or underrated? Photo by Eden...

Neither. I understand how strict some timelines can be, and if it works for you, great.
I will not be having a first look.

Honestly, neither! I love watching first looks, and seeing photos of them! However, I do not plan on doing one because I want to see his first look reaction as I'm walking down the aisle!

Underrated, we are doing them! I think it is a cute and intimate moment between us and also for us to calm nerves and just enjoy our wedding day by ourselves for a just a tiny bit of time on the special day. Also helps to get a lot of pictures already done before the ceremony!

I’m pretty traditional so I never considered the First look. But now...I think I want it! I would only hope my fiancé would have such a cute reaction as he’s not very emotional

Depends on the time of your ceremony. Ours is in the evening and we'll likely need to take pictures beforehand; there will be a first look by default. I don't think I would have first look if our ceremony was in the morning or early afternoon.

I think I’ll do my first look with my dad before he walks me down the aisle. Definitely not my FH because I want his reaction at the alter. So I’d say first look with the groom, overrated.

I love the idea - we're doing one - I want that moment captured.

Over we I love the traditional even though I'm sure the pics are easier this way I am just too much of a traditional person

I don't think this is either one. I think this is just a totally personal decision for the couple to make together!

I think it's a great idea to have a quiet moment with the FH before the ceremony. I also know photographers like the idea too since it helps with scheduling photos and not trying to squeeze them all in before the reception.

All that being said, FH and I are not planning on doing one because we want to see each other for the first time that day when I'm walking down the aisle.

I agree with you. I had no idea people even did them, until a photographer asked me.

Personally I wouldn't want to it. I want the special moment in church at the actual wedding. I think it would be less special if I already knew.
I'm also quite traditional when it comes to this sort of thing

I'm all for a bride and groom having a quiet/special moment together. I've always thought it was ironic that on the biggest days of your.lofe together, making the ultimate is ommitment the day you see least of each other because there's too many people to talk to etc!

So I'd want some kind of special moment but this wouldn't be it for me

I think the first look ruins the excitement and emotion for when you walk down the isle.

I think it's underrated. I don't think I'll do it for my wedding, but I think it's very romantic and intimate to do a first look. I think my fiance and I will pray over each other and read something but I don't want to see him until I walk down the aisle.
