First Look - Yea or Nay?

Yes plus we’re using that time for more photos of us so we don’t have to rush and do all photos during cocktail hour.

We are superstitious and thought it was terrible luck to see each other. I almost got upset because I had to text DH something after midnight, and I was worried that was bad luck!

Of course, by the time 5PM rolled around, I hadn't seen him since 8PM the night before, and I nearly ran down the aisle just to get to him. (The officiant actually had to ask us to step farther apart, because we were so happy to see each other we were blocking him!)

Ultimately, we decided for the first look. I'm a very emotional person and I know I'm going to be a wreck when I see him. This way I can fix my makeup and not have to be a blubbering mess in front of all our guests. His mom isn't a fan, she wants us to wait until I walk down the isle, but this is what works best for us. Also, we can get all the formal photos before the ceremony and be able to have fun and enjoy the evening once the ceremony is over!

I think having a first look with a family member is a great alternative to doing one with your FS. You can always see how you feel clsoer to the time and make a decision

Nay! FH doesnt want one; he is expecting to get misty eyed and wants the reveal to be when i'm walking down the aisle. Also I already have less than 2 hours to decorate. Having it before is just not logistically possible.

We decided not to do a first look.

I wanted to do a first look, but my parents are more traditional and don't want us to do it. Luckily we're all showing up at the ceremony location ready to go (nowhere to get ready at the national park) so as long as we arrive in different vans and the photographer is ready to go, it'll still be a "first look" xD

We are planning a first look, and possibly reading a letter or "vows" together as we are having a Catholic ceremony and you don't customize them for that. This will help with making sure our photos all get done too! Also, we will get to speak to each other instead of a whisper at the alter!

We are not doing it because FH doesn't want to see me before. I can't decide if I like the idea or not. Some days, I think it would be nice to spend a bit of time together beforehand, but I like the tradition of him seeing me for the first time as I walk down the isle.

Nay!! We want to wait until the wedding!! I think first looks are cute but not our thing!

Yay!! This is the part of the day I'm looking forward to the most. Even tho I doubt my FH will have much of a reaction, it just signals the start of the day for me. That's when it will feel real
