Really debating on if I should have my first look before the ceremony or down the aisle. I’m struggling with picking due to the timeline. I’m planning a November wedding because neither of us like a hot day so we want to stay cool but that means the sun goes down earlier so there’s not a lot of time after the ceremony for pictures. I was thinking of doing wedding party pictures and pictures with our parents/immediate family before and then do 30 minutes of us together during cocktail hour before sunset but are you happy with your down the aisle first look pics?

We ultimately decided to do a first look mostly to ease my nerves. I don’t like being the center of attention and this day means I’ll be that for every second of the day. I also know I’ll chicken out saying my vows to him so we decided to use this time to read our vows privately to each other and then recite the usual during the ceremony.

Me and my FH aren’t doing first look because I don’t want to take away from that experience from the both of us! Even though first looks are nice I rather wait but it all depends on what you want!

We are doing a first look. For photographs/timing sake and also because with 250 guests we anticipate it may be one of the few intimate moments we have in our busy day!

Thank you all! Some really great advice and the one they really resonated with me was allowing the walk down the aisle to be all about my dad and I. He is my best friend, and I love that idea. Will be going with a first look! Thanks xoxo !

I haven’t received my pictures yet! But all I know is his face when he first saw me coming down the aisle I wouldn’t change for anything! I was worried about timeline as well, but I don’t regret doing a first touch and his first look be when I came down the aisle! My man does not cry, and oh did he have tears when he first saw me come down that aisle! We had our ceremony and reception at different locations and were still able to get pictures with our wedding party and just us prior to the sun coming down! We got married on November 16! My advice is to have a details photo timeline, and maybe have someone (a bridesmaid) helping your photographer get through it!
