🤔🤔🤔 First Look?

Up until last month, I was apart of the "I want him to see me when I walk down" crowd. However, a First Look makes a lot more sense, my fiance isn't the type to cry easily so his reaction would be the same regardless, and we want to get pictures out of the way as much as possible to have time to mingle soooo First Look me! lol

As a wedding professional (and someone who knows a fair amount of wedding photographers), I absolutely recommend a first look: for many of the reasons mentioned here and beyond.

It's absolutely a personal choice, especially based around the timing of your wedding, but it saves a lot of photo-related stress (which is pretty much the #1 most stressful/"regrets" part of a wedding day) and you capture some truly amazing couples photos without having to worry about wrangling (or shooing) everyone else.

We will be doing a first look. We want to get our photos out of the way and we also want to attend our cocktail hour

We're waiting until he sees me on the way down the aisle.

We were going to skip it, but after talking to our photographer and seeing how many photos we could get out of the way before the ceremony if we did one, we decided to do it! We want to spend more time with everyone during cocktail hour, rather than take photos the whole time.

We'll actually have 2 first looks lol. FH doesn't know I got 2 dresses, so after the ceremony, I'm going to sneak off with my MOH and change into my reception dress. My photographer and I have already planned to surprise him and she'll take photos of his reaction when he realizes I changed dresses lol!! I'm super excited because dress 2 is more fitted, which is something he's never seen me in!

I went back and forth so much on this, but I think we've landed on doing one. My SO is really opposed to feeling staged though, which is the only concerning part about a first look (i.e. that he HAS to react a certain way) but, we both really want to spend time with everyone and enjoy the cocktail hour. Plus it gives us time to walk around the little town we are getting married in and have pictures together.
