First Look!!

Lol - if you cry at the first look it might help not cry when you walk down the aisle. I personally won’t be doing it. I want her to cry when I walk down the aisle. We’re both extroverts, so we will be fine lol

We are considering it for 3 main reasons:

1. Being able to spend more time together during the day and soak it all in; read each other letters and have time to sneak off alone together.

2. More time to take photos before the ceremony and not rush them; more time with guests at cocktail hour

3. We are able to say all of our thoughts/reactions out loud and have a moment to soak it in vs at the altar where you can't necessarily really fully express yourself

We are also introverted and don’t like having a bunch of eyes on us, so we did a first look. I’m glad we did because for my husband, the ceremony was his least favorite part of the wedding (he’s even more introverted than I am). Also, our Catholic Church had strict photography rules, so there was no way our photographers would have been able to get close enough to capture him seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle. Third, we had our first look under a huge oak tree at our getting ready hotel, so we had a gorgeous backdrop for it ☺️

My FH and I are doing a first look… we wanted to be able to spend as much time as we can at our wedding with our guests, so the first look allows us to take our bridal party and family photos before the ceremony. It will also give us a chance to get rid of the nerves and see each other after not spending the night together!

We did it for the sake of photos/timeline also, no regrets!

We did a first look and we're happy we did. It was great to have all the formal pictures done before the ceremony so we could just enjoy the rest of the day. We loved being able to have a few minutes of one on one time when we otherwise wouldn't and it did help to calm nerves too.

I am doing a first look. I am spending so much $$$ on this reception, I want to enjoy it! I don’t want to waste time taking pictures! I want that done before the ceremony 😂😂

Also doing a first look to eliminate cocktail hour and spend more time with people after the ceremony, also me and my fiance are both introverts. And it saves money on cocktail hour snacks and drinks

We are doing a first look and exchanging personal vows then, not necessarily because we're introverted, but because we don't like public speaking especially something so personal. We'll also be able to get the majority of our formal pictures completed before the ceremony this way and enjoy part of cocktail hour with our guests.

We are doing a first look! Initially, I didn't think I wanted to do one, but after talking to our photographer, my fiance and I both love the idea. We want to get as many photos out of the way before the ceremony as possible, it'll give us a moment with just me and him, it'll help ease some of my nerves, and we can enjoy cocktail hour.

I am doing one mostly for logistical purposes. i feel like it made more sense for my schedule to get the photos out of the way first

We did a first look and it was really awesome to see his reaction just in front of the Wedding party. I will never forget his face when he saw me. It was truly amazing! It was a special moment for us and then we took photos prior to the ceremony so that our wedding party didn’t have to miss the whole cocktail hour. The photos after the ceremony were more for family.

To each there own I say. I asked my soon to be husband what he preferred and he said he did not ant to do the first look. He would rather wait till I was walking down the isle. but I have know lots of couples who were happy to do it before hand. It does save on picture time but it was a preference we both agreed upon that we wanted him to wait till everyone else saw it too. :-) Good luck either way! I am sure you are going to be gorgeous and he is going to love it either way.

This is my second marriage , I didn’t do a first look last time and I liked that at the time , traditional . I plan to do first look this time specifically cause I want to get majority of the photos done before the ceremony

Me and my fiancé aren’t doing a first look because I want my full reaction when I see her walking down the aisle. If I see her before that then I’ll know what she’s going to be walking down the aisle looking like so my reaction won’t be as emotional

I am avoiding first look because I want that first moment to be when I'm walking toward him to become his wife. I am considering a first moment, which would be with some type of separation, but can still talk to him prior to him seeing me.
