First Look!!

Definitely doing a first look. I went to a wedding last October where my cousin and her hubby decided to wait to do photos, and they had us waiting at the reception for 2 1/2 hours while they did pics. It was miserable for us and we don't want to do that to our guests. Also, we're in our 40s/50s and don't really need the big to-do of waiting to see each other. We'll be walking down the aisle together.

I love this idea! I also want him to see me for the first time walking down the aisle, but this is a nice compromise.

This first non-look is an interesting idea. Thanks for showing the way we could do this. This will preserve the wow-factor going down the aisle.

I'm glad for the discussion on this. I saw some venues with a first look option. I thought it was a way to keep us from seeing each other -- so that the aisle walk was the first look he sees.

At first, my FH was against a first look. Then I explained to him the reasoning behind why I wanted one - It is going to be a bit awkward for our wedding attendants partner/guest , as there are lots of 'little pockets' of friends, know what I mean? They'd be left alone at the cocktail hour not knowing anyone else. (it's why I'm having a caricature artist, to help break a little ice) Neither of us are introverts, but I want that special time alone with just us to kinda smooth out the nerves. And finally - we're paying for this great party with awesome food, and we'll miss a good 45 minutes of it due to picture taking! I really don't think doing the first look takes away from the excitement of the actual aisle walk. Once I explained it all, FH was totally on board. (I think hearing he'd miss out on food was the swaying factor LOLOL)
