First looks who is doing them We are not

We don't do first looks in Australia as far as I know - nobody I have ever heard of has done one anyway. The first time we see each other is when the bride comes in to the wedding . I think I prefer seeing each other the first time at the wedding and not at a first look but that's just my opinion .

But yes it has been done here in New Jersey is I'm from and many other brides in other place have done first looks and have not done it. View Quoted Comment This is beautiful. I also wanted him to see me walk down the aisle… but just yesterday he asked me if he can meet me at the stairs before we walk in so he can see me with our children (also in our wedding party)
I figured it’s the only thing he’s asked of me throughout this whole process so I’ll do it. He better cry. 😂

We decided to do a first look because it will give us some special private quality time to spend together on our wedding day. And, it also gives us more time to be able to enjoy our cocktail hour. We will be doing some photos immediately following the ceremony with the wedding party and then we will get to enjoy our cocktail hour and mingling with our guests!

Our photographer actually helped us decide to have a first look. I knew I kind of wanted one because my fiancé and I know we will be so nervous and seeing each other before the ceremony will definitely calm our nerves. My family was not in to the idea of a first look since they are very traditional. The photographer stepped in and said "The ceremony starts at 4pm in November. That means if we wait until after the ceremony to take formal pictures of the couple and family, we will lose the natural light very quickly and it will be a rush to get all of the pictures done while we still have good light." THEN my family thought it was a good idea hahaha!

We are waiting till I walk down the aisle. Can’t wait to see the look on his face when I walk down the aisle. Time is coming up quickly. June 5, 2022!

My FH said he wants to see me for the first time walking to the altar. He does not even want to know what type of dress I'm looking at. I'm excited I know he is going to to amazed. I can not wait to see his face.

I felt the same way at first, but after being apart of a wedding I realized I didn't want to use a huge chunk of time for pictures when my event is happening. Of course there still will be more pictures that have to be taken, but at least a good portion are completed. Also I have live entertainment at cocktail hour that I would like to enjoy. After contemplating it I thought it would be special to have that moment for me and my future husband. just you 2 (besides the photographer)

Thanks for posting this question on first looks. I saw it backwards -- that the place for a first look was to actually delay the first look -- more for preparing for the wedding without being seen.

I think we'll go without the first look and keep the groom surprised. That will be funner that way.
