What is a good first meal to make for your spouse as a married couple? What is a good first meal to make for your spouse as a married couple? I thought it would be really fun to surprise my husband with a really romantic candlelit dinner, but can’t decide on what to make. I’d love to do something fancier/ a little bit challenging, and was hoping to get advice from all the wife’s and soon to be’s out there since my cooking is mostly just average, despite his sweet insistence that its great (he’s more of the cook haha). Please help me spice it up with a surprise please! Thanks!

    Do you have a cookbook you’ve been wanting to try a recipe from? This thread just inspired me to make something after our wedding from one of my favorite cookbooks and then write the date and a cute note in the margin when I make it, maybe I’ll do that for the entire first year of our marriage or over the next few years until I run out of recipes!! Then it will be time for a new cookbook!

    So funny! I was literally thinking about this today! Since we are getting married at a mountain resort and staying in condos I was going to make him biscuits and gravy either the day we get married and send it over it for our first breakfast. Not super fancy, but he loves it!

    We’re getting married in a Friday evening and leaving for our honeymoon late the next morning. My first meal for him will be his favorite I make- pancakes, bacon, and coffee! He gets it every weekend and I have it down to an art. We’re even taking my pancake griddle with us so he can have it every morning.

    I love trying different meals every week this is my favorite I'll created so far seasoned breaded haddock on a bed on veggies came out amazing
