First Premarital Counseling Went Great!

Was really nervous about going to premarital counseling but it went really well. In order to get married in our church you have to go. We were both a little worried but the counselors who agreed to mentor us are on their third marriage themselves (divorced in their early 30s, then both widowed after long successful marriages. She's 70, he's 80) so it's refreshing to have people who can relate to us as a couple. We knew we were going to get push back from our church because we had already been married before so we were somewhat expecting some judgement, but none here. Apparently they were also a little hesitant going in because somehow they were under the assumption that we were not following the appropriate protocol set in place for Godly courtship. Once it was established we have boundaries the session went really good. I'm so glad we were able to find a mentor- couple for this journey. They even offered to officiate since our pastor is going to be out of town that weekend. And the adventures continue
