First time waxing for honeymoon

Jazmin, on December 5, 2018 at 12:27 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

My husband and I got civil married this year and we're having a ceremony next year. Many girls suggested me to wax before the wedding night and I want to try it before our first honeymoon in a couple weeks.

So, how long should I wait to have sex after waxing? How long does the hair take to start growing?

My husband and I will be leaving on a Friday, but I'll work until the day before and by the time I'm done with work the spa will be closed. So I can either get waxed on the same day or the sunday before.

Honestly i would go 2-3 times before the time right before the honeymoon if that makes sense. That way the hair is alot thinner and it takes a lot longer to grow back after a couple times.

Normally, you have to wait 24 hours before having sex after waxing.

waxing for the first time hair will probably start growing back within 2-3 weeks but the more you get it done the longer it takes to grow back.

I agree with Mireya. I prefer sugaring over waxing. Not sure if that’s available in your area.

    It’s less painful than waxing!

Usually it hurts me for only like 12 hours after waxing (it’ll hurt and be red and blotchy that same day, but by the time I wake up the next morning I feel fine). But I’ve also been waxing regularly since I was like 15. It’s different for different people but for me it looks perfect the whole first week, looks good enough the second week, a little questionable by the third week (lol), and needs to be redone by the fourth. So I’ll usually go once a month, but do a touch up on my own at home after the second week.

If you get waxed the Sunday before it probably will not be looking perfect by the time you get to your honeymoon. It’ll likely look perfect from a distance, but you’ll be able to see it starting to growing back up close. Idk if that matters to you. If I were you I would get it done the same day you leave, but only if you plan to not have sex that day and you probably won’t want to wear shorts either because it may look red and blotchy. But would you really be having sex or doing much the day you’re traveling? If it were me I would definitely get it done the day you leave, wear a maxi dress or maxi skirt on the plane, and plan to not have sex until the next day. I would feel like that would be better than giving it almost a full week to start growing back before you even get there!

Look up sugaring because it is healthier and less painful.

And the first time is the toughest.... I second the advice to start this at least 3-4 months out, if at all possible.

Hi! I’ve been getting sugared the last couple of years and i have the best results when i wait 4-5 weeks before sugaring appts.

So, yes, grow it out for a month before your first wax. And then don’t shave between. No joke. The hair comes in softer with every passing month.. so while the first month or two or growth results in ingrowns and discomfort... it will get better.

I would do this for a few months before your big day. You can get waxed the morning that you’re leaving.. but be prepared to not have sex that evening or wear tight clothes. I like sugaring because it doesn’t leave me red and inflamed like waxing does.

I wouldn't do it your first time right before your honeymoon personally. I would definitely do it for a few months leading up to it!

Depending on how "dense" your hair is the pain may be worse and last longer. Usually the first time I wax after a while can take up 24 hours to feel better again as my hair gets thinner it is almost pain free after a few hours.
