Chelsea, on May 21, 2020 at 9:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Haha so I never thought I would be worried or have bad dreams or over think things for my wedding. I’m 7-10-21 so being in the middle of next summer I feel confident however, I started off at 25 months and was told it’s to early to plan. I booked my venue at 20 months and now that I’m 13 Months I need to book things now and nothing is open.... now I’m worried and so I had
My first wedding nightmare last night. I feel Iike I have so much to do idk where to start. I’m trying to organize is but it’s kinda hard. 🤦🏼‍♀️

There are great wedding planning checklists available on the web. I found a few and customized it to meet my wedding needs. It has everything from the research to after the wedding and changing your name. You have 13 months, you're going to be OK.

We finally found our venue at 10 months prior and were prepared to sign the contract and then the world shut down, we're now at less than 5 months and every vendor has a contract / paid EXCEPT my wedding venue because they are still closed and won't reopen for 2 more weeks. I should be a nervous wreck but I'm not. Why, because it's completely out of my control. All I can do is wait and hope the venue keeps their word that when they reopen I'll be first in line to sign that contract and pay in full. And if it doesn't happen, I'm still not going to freak out because I know in my heart of hearts everything will work out the way it's supposed to. And I have a dress in hand that can't be altered because no seamstress is open yet. You have 13 months to prepare... It's going to be OK...

I'm sure you have a list of places to reach out to and as soon as they reopen you can call them. Stop making yourself mentally ill over things you can't control. Take a deep breath, breathe and start organizing.

Haha thank you. I never thought my mind would
Get to that point. I wanted a small wedding in Vegas and my FH wanted the big wedding. And now my mind is over thinking things because I don’t know what I’m doing lol.... my mom isn’t much help. And this process has been kinda lonely. No one really to talk to about ideas or planning.

There are a ton of resources on WW and all over the web. Use it to your advantage because it's "free." You have thousands of people here to talk to when you feel overwhelmed, but if you are that overwhelmed, hire a wedding planner - it's costly, but they take the headache off your shoulders. Talk to one of your friends, I'm sure they would love to help. Mine keep offering but I'm too stubborn and have to have everything in my control. I'm still trying to figure out how I can control my wedding day and still get ready... LOL... unrealistic and I know ultimately I'll ask for help.

Your FH should be one to bounce ideas off of. Maybe it was different for me because he and I had the same vision all along so the planning has been a little easier (except for the venue....).

Take one project at a time and run with it. The hardest part is the venue and the date. Everything else should be cake.

We planned our entire wedding with a 9 month engagement, had Covid come in and change everything entirely, and now are throwing together an elopement in 10 days and pushing back our wedding/reception by a full year. You are going to be FINE!

Omg lmao, I’ve been having reoccurring dreams of my wedding starting and everything going wrong or unfinished! I think because of covid I’m scared I won’t have everything done in time if I’m still having a wedding.

Haha yes! I have so much to do still have like my vendors I reached out before are booking because 2020 brides are moving to 2021 so it’s like well there goes that option and I think it’s annoying me haha
