Flip Flops for Wedding Guests

Kay, on June 22, 2018 at 11:02 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 22

Hi!

I am going to Old Navy's $1 flip flop sale tomorrow as I want to get flip flops for the woman to change into if they would like.

We don't have our RSVPs yet but we have invited 94 women and think about 70 will come and maybe about 50 will change into flip flops or take a pair.

Any suggestions on how to work out a varying amount of sizing?

We went to a wedding last summer that did this and honestly only about 5 people took flip flops out of the 200 guests. I think they did them all in the large size and if you had small feet you just had too big flip flops?

My sisters both did this and they went "heavy" on 7s and 8s and a few 6s and 9s. They said they did 30 pairs tops because more of the younger crowd went for them

Hey there, Kay! So nice of you to plan ahead and take care of your guests' feet! Smiley kiss I would get mostly large sizes to accommodate the vast majority and then some medium and small- people probably won't be too picky! Maybe do 30-10-10? you may very well have a ton left over but you can always donate! Smiley heart Honestly, my main concern would be hoping that Old Navy still has 50 pairs of flip flops on $1 sale day! Best of luck!

I love this! Old Navy is an amazing place to buy flip flops for cheap. We are going to do this but not until next year's sale (wedding is until July 2019). We are inviting 220 guests, expecting closer to 150. Around half are women. We will probably get between 30-40 pairs of flip flops (1/3 smaller sizes, 1/3 medium, 1/3 large) since we can always donate them after.

We did flip-flops, all but a few of the smaller sizes went. We actually got ours from the dollar store (Dollar Tree) because our Old Navy had nothing left.

Oh wow! Ages ago I thought I would do this, then decided against it, and then went to a pretty formal wedding in March and they had them there and the ladies flocked to it...so decided to bring it back! I hate wearing heals and live in flip flops so has a bit of a personal touch for me as well Smiley smile Anything we dont use, we can donate.

Just a heads up do you have a PRIMARK near you? Their flip flops are .90 cents - I shopped last year at old navy and got a bunch during their sale - but I grabbed 30 more pairs at Primark for cheaper and they are really nice.

I love this idea! We got our guest ballet flats for our winter wedding. We are inviting 100 women to our wedding so I bought 80 pairs. 20 small (size 6-7), 40 medium (size 8-9), and 20 large (size 10-11).

I did notice that they ran a bit larger than regular sizing so I think the large will fit up to 12 or 13.

I was going to do this as well, but I was told that there is a 10per person max this year by a friend that manages an old navy.

Im doing this as well but bringing my mom as there is a 10 per person max. So hopefully we can get 20 between us. I got lucky and picked up 15 pairs for 29cents each at a store called Job Lot in Rhode Island. So there are other places that have cheap flip flops you just have to look.

I didn't know they had Primark in the US, thought was a UK store! Will definitely look into that, thank you!

I am thinking of buying about 50- there are about 70 estimated woman coming if I look at who I think will def come and my maybes, and thinking this breakdown:

4x 11's (know 4 definite people who would wear them and are this size)

    8x 10's

    11x 9's

    12x 8's

    10x 7

    5x 6's

Do you guys thinking maybe more 7s?

Yes, def is 10 per person...going with FH and hitting up 2 stores and our friend is going to 1 for us! Their flip flops are pretty cheap normally, so if we dont get all 50, not the end of the world.

When I got mine last year they didn't hit me with the 10 per person, in fact there was a woman who had a cart and her husband to be was guarding it, she had to have at least 50 pairs and they gave her no problem. Check out how many other people have, your Old Navy might not give you any hassle.

edited: They had the 10 per person rule last year as well.

Lol! I think from someones previous post, it may be a new rule...lol prob because of people taking cart fulls. I wish the limit was a little higher but yeah, maybe will try sneak in a few extra and see if they say anything!! Smiley smile

Still on the fence about this one. I always see mixed reviews and I don’t want leftover flip flops lol
