I’m doing something similar to this on some of my tables. You could easily do this with floating candles, too.Floating cylinder candles 1

These were ours! They looked incredible. The pictures don’t do them justice. HOWEVER later in the night a bunch of them took on water and they went out and could not be relit. It didn’t bother me at that point because I was having so much fun, but just something to keep in mind about floating candles!

I didn't do these personally. However, 17 years ago, my sister & I bought $2 ivory pillar candles and borrowed the florists cylinder glass holders. The venue added some water for safety, and reflection. I would ask your florist for container rentals or see the dollar store. Here are other groupings: 1) in green space, 2) flowers in glycerin, 3) colored water, 4) bowl, 5) flameless, and 6) color:

The restaurant I used to work at had the same problem with its floating candles but only after they had been burning for a number of hours. I would recommend having a small number of extras so you can replace the ones that burn out and/or take on water.
