Floral Budget (If you don't mind sharing)

I'm waiting on pins and needles for my florist to get my quote for flowers and decor back to me. While I'm in the dark, I'd love to know what you guys are paying for flowers and what you're getting for that amount (with pics if you have any)!

Christine, I have been following this florist on FB for a few months who is in NY for some inspiration. I think they do a really nice job. They have prices also on their FB and their website. If you think of doing wedding in NY, here they are: http://www.13thaveflorist.com/

I'll probably be in the minority but my total is about $425. That includes 12 bouquets, 2 wrist corsages, 3 pin on corsages, and 18 boutonnieres.

Im thinking about $150. I made 2 fake flower bouquets with off white roses from the dollar store to carry because they are only a prop that i will use for literally 3 minutes. Walking the isle both ways. They turned out better than I thought, and i need to make one more. Cost was $3.00 for both. They have 8 packs of off white roses for boutineers at Michaels for under $10 and i have a 50% off coupon. Then, all i have to buy is real coursages x 3. They are 15 bucks a piece at the grocery store. If its cost effective I will buy the boutineers from the grocery store too, but guys are so indifferent when it comes to flowers. No flowers at the reception or church planned.

I just met with our florist yesterday to talk centerpieces. We're just below $1300 (mine, 5BMS, 7 bouts, 20 centerpieces w/modest florals, 2 mother's and 1 grandmother corsages, rose petals for cake table and flower girl (complimentary), 2 arrangements for altar at church-will be repurposed at reception, and thus a reasonable delivery/service charge) which is perfect for our budget. I was actually relieved.

I still haven't finalized specific flowers for my own bouquet, and possibly adding a few high centerpieces for Wow-factor! So yeah, I'm still kind of holding my breath, but should leave well enough alone. Keep us posted Christine!

Mine is 1800- we are getting my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 corsages, 10 boutonnières, 16 centerpieces (includes rental of lanterns and wood boxes), 10 bunches of baby's breath (to use for DIY decor in ceremony and cocktail hour spaces), cake decorations (succulents and other fresh flowers), and includes delivery and set up. My initial budget was 1500, but that was before I knew I could rent the lanterns and boxes from the florist. I'm still bummed I went over. My centerpieces and bridal bouquet are 1,200 of the 1,800. Everything else was cheap.

I did not want to spend over $1,000 but ideally would've liked to keep around $600. I ended up paying $1300 because I fell in love with the florist the minute i met with her. I decided that her expertise, ideas, professionalism and willingness to make the most of our budget was worth paying twice what I wanted to pay (and still affordable compared to many other's floral expenses). We got 9 centerpieces, flowers down the aisle, archway centerpiece, cake table flowers, my bouquet, a toss bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets and 4 boutonnieres. The pictures below are of the ceremony flowers, my bouquet and the BM bouquets. The centerpieces varied by table but were essentially various shades of white and purple hydrangeas, roses, calla lillies, lysanthius, and dahlias. The GMs boutonnieres were monet (white with purple center) calla lillies. Fingers crossed your flowers end up within budget and to your liking!!!

I ended up ordering silk flowers. Now that FH family isn't talking and my mom passed I got way more than I need, but thought I needed them when ordered. They cost around 510.00 including the shipping. I used TheBridalFlower.

1 bridal bouquet, 1 throw, 4 BM bouquets, Groom Bout, 4 GM bouts, 2 father bouts, 4 pin on corsages (mothers/gmas)

I got them yesterday. I love the colors and everything, but I thought they would be a little bit bigger...that being said I've never really seen or held other bridal bouquets to know if these really are smaller or normal sized. Since this is her business I'm sort of assuming she makes them according to typical sizes.

How small is small Jillian? I guess it depends on what you had in mind, cuz I've seen bouquets that come in all sizes.

I'm paying just under $400 for my flowers, which includes my bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, and 7 boutonnieres. The bouquets will be made of the flowers in the attached pic. Because the roses (Purple Haze) are massive, we only need a few of them, which unexpectedly brought the price down. Consider that! Roses in many colors come in huge sizes.

There was no intent to keep the budget small, but it happened because 1) the flowers I wanted are full in size 2) I'm using centerpieces that do not include flowers!

My future sister-in-law got married last year and spent $1300 on flowers. She told me it was her biggest regret. When they delivered the flowers, she was devastated by how little her money bought her and how short-lived the result was. Many married friends agreed with her sentiments.

I love statement centerpieces, and now I can decided to sell all of my décor and make my money back or even keep elements for home décor. The problem I see with floral centerpieces is they are very expensive, they don't last and (as I have heard time and again) most people don't remember centerpieces. I love flowers, but the bride and LOVE will be the true centerpieces of the day!
