Floral Budget - Is $500 Unrealistic?

I'm trying to stretch my wedding budget as much as possible; with that being said, I budgeted $500 for flowers. This is something less important to me, so I don't need anything too big or fancy, but I don't think I want to go the DIY route (yet...) and I don't think I want to do silk flowers. I...

I'm trying to stretch my wedding budget as much as possible; with that being said, I budgeted $500 for flowers. This is something less important to me, so I don't need anything too big or fancy, but I don't think I want to go the DIY route (yet...) and I don't think I want to do silk flowers. I haven't met with a Florist yet so I want to prepare myself for the numbers they may throw at me.

Would need: Bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 7 boutonnieres (includes one for groom, my dad, FFIL and 4 groomsmen), 2 corsages for the moms and loose petals to decorate the aisle (we're getting married on a beach). No additional flowers needed for centerpieces or the hotel's ballroom (hotel does a beachy centerpiece for each table as part of our package).

I'm near Tampa, FL. Thoughts? Is there a type of flower that's typically less expensive or a way to really squeeze the most out of my floral budget?

I'm in Tampa too and am also struggling with flowers. I have been trying to hard to come up with a cute non-floral centerpiece and have had no success - but I just can't see my spending that much money for centerpieces!

We're also getting married in Florida (Gainesville). We got a quote from Publix for $740 (includes tax and delivery). That price is for 1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 5 coursages, 9 bouts, and 3 large arrangements for the church. We're also looking into making silk arrangements ourselves to possibly get the florals cost lower. Good luck!

I spent around $350 on my bouquet plus 5 BM's bouquets, 7 boutonnieres and a corsage at the local grocery store. I didn't have to DIY, and the flowers looked gorgeous.
