Floral headpiece

Paige, on September 22, 2019 at 9:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
I love the idea of wearing a floral headpiece. My mom on the other hand HATES IT. She told me “I lived through the 70s flower children and that’s all this makes me think of.” I want to make her happy and feel like she loves my look on my wedding day. What do I do?

I love it. Just get it. I don’t think it will look too 70s if you have a more structured hairstyle — not that there’s anything wrong with 70s boho style!!

Your wedding, your hair. Yes, you may hear about it from her every time she sees a wedding pic. But you can’t make everyone happy all the time. You have to do what you think is best for you.

You do you. Don’t let mom’s opinion sway you, she will be overjoyed on your wedding day when she sees your whole outfit!

Let her look how she wants and you look how you want. She's not the one getting married. It's not her event and they are not photos of her happiest day. She doesn't have to like it. We all have different styles.

She’s your mom... it’s your wedding day, she should think you look beautiful no matter what. i’m doing a flower crown for mine, would my parents have preferred a traditional veil? absolutely. but that doesn’t mean that they won’t think i’m beautiful on my wedding day.

My mom didn’t really like that I wore my nose hoop for my wedding, and told me that I’d regret it later. But it was my wedding, and I liked it, so I wore it. If you like flower crowns, wear it. In 20 years everything will look outdated anyway so just do what you want lol

Wear what you want! It’s beautiful and boho is in. Your mom will probably love your overall look but seeing one item she wasn’t expecting is throwing her off. But end of the day, it’s your wedding and your photos. Wear what makes YOU feel like a beautiful bride.

I wore a flower crown and definitely didn't have a hippie-style wedding. I think they are a classic look that brides have worn long before the 70s. If you want to wear it, go for it!

I’m not a big fan of flower crowns so I get her point maybe wear a flower crown for your engagement pictures

It's your wedding, not hers. If you like it, wear it!

Would she be willing to compromise? You wear a veil for ceremony and floral head piece for reception? That's my plan!
