Floral Help!

116 days to my wedding and we are at loss about what to do about florals. Budget is $2,000. My parents cannot imagine paying more than that for things that will be dead a week later. We've inquired with 3 florist so far that are twice as much as we'd like to spend. It's a wedding in the texas hill country at a rustic (with a touch of modern) barn style wedding. The ceremony will take place in the chapel. I'm the type of person to look at all my options before giving up on something. There are certain things we can DIY like isle markers, centerpieces, petals. I'm trying to find artificial flowers that wont break the bank and can be made in advance. Any suggestions or tips that you've experienced?
