Floral Hoops

LaraLouM, on January 10, 2018 at 4:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Hello Ladies! (and Gents)!

I have been seeing a lot of these "floral hoops" on Pinterest and the internet. I think they are very pretty and could be good props for wedding photos, but have any of you actually used one as a replacement for a bouquet? Is it awkward carrying? Do florists make these or are they a must-be-DIY thing? I put some examples. My flowers will be completely different than those (tropical greenery and poppies!). I also do not know how I would incorporate the rings into the reception. I know with the bouquets you can have vases waiting to hold them as part of the decor.

Florists definitely make them! My florist had made some before so I had her make one for my daughter, the flower girl, as we couldn't throw petals at our venue. So beautiful and not awkward at all to carry.

I would honestly stick with holding a bouquet, they're classic for a reason.

These would be cute as aisle decor though. Hang them off a Shepherd's hook or something.

You can have hoops hanging- either vertically or horizontally. If you want to use them as a backdrop for the head or sweetheart table, you can hang the hooks on fishing lines and just slip the wreaths on the hooks when you arrive at the reception.

Yes I saw that they were looking for advice on making their wreath prettier.

I love those looks! I’ll have to see if we can do something similar at the venue then that would be perfect for placing the Hoops after the ceremony!

Using a huge embroidery hoop for the top pic gives a nice contrast between the clean lines of the hoop and the florals, rather than using a grapevine or other wreath.

We used a large floral hoop as part of our band backdrop. This was a DIY project where we took an extra large hula hoop and wrapped it with lots of garland and berries. We added a gold "Cheers" sign across the middle.
