That area in my experience is perfect in November. Have a backup plan just in case, where would your reception be?

We are thinking at treasure island at the bilmar hotel. It's going to be about 100 people or less so I'm still trying to weigh out my options. Thank you for your opinion!

It depends on the year. My phone says it's 77 out right now, and I live in the St Pete area. To me, it's perfect weather out lately, with little to no humidity, and it hasn't rained here in a few weeks. However, it could be way colder or hotter next year. You just never know, unfortunately. Bilmar is on the beach, and the sea breeze should make it a perfect, comfortable day for everyone though, as long as it doesn't rain. They have an inside hall, I believe, for a back-up plan, but I would call to confirm just in case.

The Grand Plaza Hotel at St pete beach is where I am getting married. Some people complain that it is two "wedding factory" bc they can have up to 4 weddings in day. But I think it just makes them that much more easy to work with and knowledgable. Plus the price was Ah-mazing.

The Sirata next door is really great too.

I've lived in FL for 11 years... November is always hit or miss with weather. The last 2 years it's been warmer than usual, however, even if it's cold out... it won't be freezing. As long as people have something to cover arms, etc they'll be fine. Are you doing your reception inside or outside? If you have the reception outside, it might be a bit too chilly in the late evening, but if you're doing just the ceremony you're safe.

That would be great but I'm biased because I'll be getting married there in February! We went through a wedding company called Suncoast Weddings. The set ups they do at the beach are beautiful and they also have reception options!

Weather can be dicey here but it's usually pretty nice.

I am getting married on Sunset Beach (10min north of St Pete Beach) because St Pete Beach raised their permit fee to $250 recently. Sunset is only $25, and much more intimate. If you use one of the resorts, you would be using their beach. I would recommend Tradewinds over the others, unless your budget will allow something like the Don CeSar. We are staying at Tradewinds, but the reception will be at Bayside Banquets directly across the street from Tradewinds. The route we are taking is really affordable. There are beach options in the area for pretty much any budget!

I second Suncoast Weddings! I am using them as well!

We thought about doing a beginning of the year wedding but there are too many birthdays in our families at the beginning of the year. We wanted something off season so we have to deal with less of the wedding hussle and bussle. But I have not thought of back up plans. Thanks for all of your opinions!

May I ask what your budgets were? We honestly haven't discussed a budget too much but I don't want to spend an extreme amount because we are planning our honey moon to be a trip to Australia since both have always wanted to go.

Oh a warning... Nov through March is peak season in Florida for tourism. So you will be paying double or more for hotels!

I guess either way it's always peak season for something in Florida lol. I also looked into sunset beach a little and thought about renting the sunset pavilion but we have too many people on the guest list lol

Don't Cesar is pretty pricey, as is Tradewinds. They are considered "high end" like hotel zamora. But Zamora is boutique. It'll be 10,800 for me at the Grand for open bar, buffet, cake, etc etc for 90 people. Where as hotel zamora, not on the beach is $160 per person.

Are you local Florida or destination from out of state?

Yes, I was about to say November is definitely peak season here, because the weather is much more tolerable than the Summer months. The beach hotels will be pricey, but I couldn't give you an exact number. Do an inquiry for their service through WW, and they will send you a basic overview, or just call even. Find out if they are in your budget, and go from there. But it sounds like you need to sit down with your FH and figure out just how much you actually want to spend on the wedding. Because Australia will cost you a pretty penny. I went back in 2008, and my airfare alone was like $1,200, so I can only imagine it has gone up since then.

We went to every beach hotel, including PCI. Grand seemed the best. My friend used Suncoast wedding and had hers at pass-a-grille with her reception on the roof of the hurricane. It was very private and beautiful sunset at the roof. The hurricane catered, but they still managed to spend 20k. On what, I really don't know.

Also, I'm local too. Yay. Neighbors.

Also. Sirata and PCI provides a hotel room for the couple. Grand, and Zamora dont. :/

Honestly your budget is however much you (or whoever is contributing) can afford. Base everything else off that.

I have a friend that rented a beach house for a few days, had the ceremony on the beach and a cocktail reception inside. This would only work with a fairly small guest list but it was a nice wedding on a fairly small budget.

Budget reasons was why we decided to use Bayside Banquets. It's right by all the hotels and is extremely reasonably priced.
