For the ceremony and reception, we are paying around $6500 for 50 guests. This includes the decor and chairs on the beach (plus set up and breakdown), officiant, and photographer. For the reception, the package included center pieces, dj, cake, buffet with tons of options and we also added an open bar and apps for cocktail hour. It comes with more but I just can't think of it all! Michelle from Suncoast is great!

I've lived in the area for over 10 years. November is ideal to me weather wise. Rainy season is over (it may still rain but your chances are lower) and the temperature at night is perfect. Something to think about with a public beach wedding is there could be little to no privacy especially on Treasure Island where there are a lot of hotels and restaurants that will be full at that time of year. If that would bother you, I would ask about how busy the area of the beach is during your ceremony and reception if they will both be outside.

Suncoast is sounding pretty good right now! Thanks for resources! And love how many locals there are. Honestly didn't know there were so many on ww

@Holly 1.0 we were going to do that!! But there are a ton of towns that have made ordinances against it recently. I found a couple of places that would do it but either it was ridiculously expensive ($15k just for the rental house) or you were limited to 20 guests.

@Holly 1 and 2...I looked into homes on the beach too and couldn't find any that allowed over 50 people along the central and south gulf. I did find a few in the panhandle though. In the end I fell in love with the idea of a wedding at a private house and found one in central Florida but I was sad I couldn't find one on the beach.

Funny you guys mention renting houses, because they just covered this in the Tampa Bay Times a few days ago. Apparently some of the beach cities have ordinances that limit short term rentals (AirBnB), and they put a cap on the allotted number of guests at the homes for various reasons. =/

Yeah I was really irritated when I couldn't find one! FH and I are beach bums, so we really wanted the laid back feel of having a wedding in the beach with a sort of house party after.

Side note... are there 3 of us who are local and all getting married in Feb 2017? (Holly 1.0, Britny)

Same here in the beach house. I was bummed when sunset beach quoted 15k.

And the one house I found on treasure Island only allowed 30 people for a reception. :/

We should get together for a beach drink

Obviously we all like the beach since we're getting married there. I'm in!

I’m planning for Nov ‘18 too. I’m from FL- in CA now. I think Nov is a safer time for weather. I’m torn Zamora or Hyatt Regency on Clearwater Beach. Both are beautiful and can be done for a 5-6k budget.
