Florist messed up

Meredith, on September 10, 2014 at 11:59 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

I need advice.

On the morning of my wedding when my flowers arrived, I noticed that my bouquet was not what I discussed with my florist.

My bouquet was to be whites, creams and champagne roses and O'Hara roses. Instead, I received purple O'Hara roses and browning white roses. My girls had cream and peach roses and mint dresses so as you can see purple did not match anything.

One of my bridesmaids called the florist who stated that because of a bug, customs burned all of the flowers for 3 weeks in a row and they went out at 6am and this was what they could obtain. They said they would deliver a new bouquet.

Low and behold the second bouquet arrives. This bouquet consisted of browning white roses. I quickly got on the phone with the florist who started to argue with me that she did not send out old flowers. When I put her delivery man on the phone who told her the flowers were brown. I was told that I would be refunded for my bouquet and additionally my bridesmaid was told that because of the inconvenience and the mistake with the second bouquet that I would be refunded half of each of my bridesmaids bouquets.

I then had no choice but to take pictures with the purple flowers as another bouquet would be dropped off at the church.

When I returned from my honeymoon, I followed up with the florist. She informed me that she never mentioned that she would refund half of my girls bouquets since they were perfect. She also went on that the second bouquet was brand new and just needed to be peeled back and that she had to rush to make it.

I'm not sure what to do as it is a case of he said/she said. But I find the entire situation to be insulting and extremely frustrating.

That is rather unfortunate. You've already tried to complain so I'd leave bad reviews for her on WW. I just filed a complaint with BBB (Better Business Buero... not sure if you have that organization) for an completely NWR item. I'm not sure what else you can do Smiley sad

I would suggest putting this in writing. Are you dealing with the owner or just an employee? I would outline the events like you have above. State what you were told you would get as a refund. Tell them you are expecting them to follow through on their word. I would also put something to the effect of "I do not want to have to resort to BBB or negative review of your store. I know we should be able to find a better arrangement for all parties."

BBB and negative the review the crap out of that place

EDIT: Also, if you talk to her again, put her on speaker and record the whole phone conversation with a voice recorder. Then if she tries to back out on you later, you can tell her you have the recording of you last phone conversation.

I had same issue they messed up my bouquet before the wedding had to sit there and tell them what I wanted

Then I never recieved petals for my flowery girl no fresh flowers and then no throw away bouquet all for which were stated in my contract and paid for

I contacted them 5 times and when I threatened them with BBB and an attorney for breaching my contract they all of a sudden returned my phone calls. I blasted them all over fb and left a shifty review for them as well. And all I got was a bouquet of flowers for being sorry that died in 2 days

Did you have a contract that stated what the bouquets were to contain? Did you take pictures of the second, crappy bouquet? If you did, include those in your case.

Honestly,I think all you can really do is negative review them anywhere you can. It sounds like the florist is going to be a pain in the ass, and it's probably not a high enough $ amount to sue over.

I would have flipped out - I am so sorry that they did this to you on your wedding day! I would try contacting them more time, and tell them that you are wanting to resolve this between the two of you but you will bring in extra people if necessary. Fight them on this crap.
