Florist pricing

Roxanne, on June 2, 2022 at 8:28 AM Posted in Planning 3 11
I was wondering how much you all are spending on your wedding centerpieces. I went to a florist referred by my co worker and she charged me $2,600 for 12 tables plus the table place card. My centerpiece will comprise of curly willow branches with white larkspur attached to the branches. I was thinking about buying the tree branches and vase online which cost $670 and just have her attached the flowers to the branches.
Note: My florist will be providing other services which I did not mention above, I’m only on the defense about the price of the centerpiece decor.

Price varies by location and this is an international forum so no two people are paying the same prices for anything. Even in the same city, the same exact items/services will vary in price.

What people don’t realize is that price depends on labor and time as well as what flowers are in season. Covid has driven the price of flowers and greenery up. Also greenery only still requires time and labor so it’s not a cheaper alternative as the articles claim it is. Nor is DIY cheaper because no one counts supplies, sanity or time and labor at minimum wage per hour into the final quote. Then you have Wedding Tax on top of that.
Based on all of that, what you are quoted sounds pretty reasonable and fair. You can get price quotes for the exact same items from other florists to compare before you commit

That sounds reasonable. My tall centerpieces are quoted at 200 each.

I looked up images of both old curly willow and white larkspur and think your centerpieces will be very dramatic and inspired! For cost comparison, I would ask your florist for itemized breakdown and look at cost per piece + rental of vases. I'm thinking the $2600 includes delivery, labor/setup, and ceremony decor, so best to price individually. Consider that your florist will have to also store the fresh larkspur before the wedding, so she/he def has a role. Diy, may not be as cost-effective or less stressful for you unless you go artificial or all wood. But congrats on choosing a Look and choosing plants native to west coast US, so you won't have import costs. Good luck. FYI, my price was similar to Debbie's +stand rental. I had half high, half low, NY 2021 wedding.

Prices are going to vary wildly when it comes to florals. Things like location, what you choose, whether it’s in season, how much travel is involved, how much time & labor will go into it, etc, etc. If it makes you feel better, our florals are also costing $2,600 and that’s only for 6 tables and 2 bouquets.

Thank you for sharing, I got my inspiration because I don’t like flowers they make me itch. But I wanted to incorporate a little something. I will definatly ask her for the break down but now that I’m looking at it I’m the price isn’t that bad. Just wanted to know what everyone else paid for.

Our florist total was 1,800 .. our centerpieces are 20 dollars each. I have lanterns and my florist is going to add eucalyptus and baby’s breath around them. Our cake table will just be eucalyptus and baby’s breath. We will also have 2 arrangements for our arch. 2 arrangements for our 2 barrels that will go in front of the chairs at our ceremony. My bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 boutonnières, a little arrangement to go above my welcome sign and 3 flower crowns.!

So the first picture is how the eucalyptus and
Baby’s breath will be around my lanterns. The second picture is of my rust cheese cloth with my lantern and table number. The 3rd picture is the flowers that will be in my arrangements which are rust mums, white roses, baby’s breath and eucalyptus 🤗

The prices of flowers are going to be difference depending on your location. I spent about $1000 for my flowers. My cost was for the flowers for the ceremony space, my bouquet, my 5 bridesmaid bouquets and the 10 boutineres for my groom, groomsmen, my dad and my grandfather. For the reception, we use the flowers the ceremony to help decorate and the bridesmaid laid their bouquets across the head table. I did not have flowers for the table because I bought candles and their decor for my tables.
