Flower girl and ring bearer

Alexis, on March 1, 2021 at 12:10 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
Do the flower girl and ring bearer usually stand at the Alter after walking down the aisle? Or do they sit with their parents in the row?

Also, do they walk out at the end of the ceremony as well?

At all the weddings I attended, they sat with their parents after walking down and didn't walk down when it was done!

You can honestly do whatever you feel most comfortable with! There really are no rules on this, but I would suggest having them sit with their parents and not standing with the rest of the wedding party. Especially if they're little ones since they get antsy very quickly.

I think it depends on their age we will have a 4,2,7,5 year old ring bears and flower girls so they will sit with our parents after they walk down the aisle

Hi Alexis! We had two ring bearers and they walked down the aisle and sat with their mom in the front row (our nephews so their dad was best man and mom is obviously my SIL). They walked out of the ceremony with their mom. For the reception, my MIL who is currently single was partnered with one ring bearer (she’s the grandma so he was really excited to be announced with her) and second ring bearer fell asleep on the best man’s shoulder during their announcement and it was hilarious 😂

I should add they did not stand at the altar but just immediately sat with mom ❤️

Weddings I have attended and seen online have had them stand the entire time. Also they walk out behind the couple, before maid of honor/best man in opposite order they entered.

Parents of flowergirl/ringbearer are often friends, not family, so they are often mixed into the middle of the audience. Front row is for the couple's parents/grandparents/siblings.

Our flower girls sat in the front row with relatives (we didn't have ring bearers). Both parents were in the wedding party so sitting with mom and dad wasn't an option. They were instructed to sit in the front row with relatives though, and they were very well behaved. After the ceremony, the flower girls joined the recession with the rest of the wedding party. I've attended around 50 weddings and I've never seen the flower girls or ring bearers stand during the ceremony before.

Ours will be sitting in the front row after they walk in. They’d never stand still that long. They’re 3 , 5 and 7.
