Flower girl passed away

Tesha, on May 12, 2018 at 4:51 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
What are some cool ways to honor our flower girl? She was my fiance' s grandma and was a huge part of our lives. We wanted her to be our flower girl so bad, but sadly she passed before our big day. We still want a spot for her at the wedding but want some cool ways. Any ideas?

1st I'd like to say...I'm very sorry for your loss, and that my prayers go out to you all and the families. May God give you and your FH the strength to get through your big day as well as other day🙏
I don't have much of an idea on what you all can do, except maybe at the moment that she was to walk down...that maybe you all have a moment of silence and play maybe a video of some memories of her?? And maybe also have the person performing your ceremony include her in the speech somehow??

I’m so sorry for your loss!!

what I’m doing to honor those that have passed is I am making (you can buy one from hobby lobby) a sign to put on one of the ceremony chairs in the front. It says something like “we know you would be here today if heaven wasn’t so far away”. I am also doing the picture frame idea and putting my mother’s and grandmothers pictures in it and attaching it to my bouquet.

I was at a wedding once where they honored their grandma who passed by having a relative carry a single rose down the aisle in her honor. Did she have a favorite flower you could use?

I'm so sorry for your loss. My payers to you and your family. Will you have another flower girl? If so, maybe they can carry a framed picture of her down the aisle.

Aw that's so sad can someone else do it in her memory? Maybe put something in program?

I like this idea! Having something in the program saying “in loving memory of” under where the flower girl is or something in its own section.

Thanks everyone! I think we have decided to have a picture frame with a picture of her in it, with some flowers around it. Then have balloons wrapped on the chair and after the wedding ceremony we will release them in the sky.

Hi Tesha! I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your fiance's grandma; I send my deepest condolences. I also love your idea to preserve her memory. It will be beautiful. What other planning items are you currently working on?
