Flower petal covered aisle?

MisstoMrsWeber, on June 28, 2016 at 2:07 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23

Love the look of blush flower petals as the aisle runner.. But is this practical?

We are having an outdoor ceremony with whiskey barrels at the beginning of the aisle then our arbor at the end. I love the look of flower pedals as the runner but does this really work? Can it only work with no wind at all? Do they all blow away with even a little bit of wind?

My florist is great and I can make small changes like this all the way up until a week before my wedding. Should I look at the weather for the wind mph?

We did this with silk flower petals. We had no issues with any of them blowing away and found them for cheap on ebay.

I did it and didn't have any issues! It was pretty windy but they all stayed in place for the most part.

I've wondered how those worked, too...does it look weird if you drag your train through them?

    The idea is pretty, though.

I like the look. Don't do silk; someone has to clean them up!!

My venue coordinator suggested this and I am debating it for sure! I love the look...

I love the look, but I'm wondering about the logistics as well. I wouldn't want to use silk petals because it would be a pain to clean up, but I'm guessing that real petals are pretty expensive.

Real petals can stain your dress though....

Becasue they are on the ground and the chairs will block alot of wind I assume you dont need to worry about the wind

We are having our ceremony on a windy bluff. Our coordinator said petal aisles were fine but you often need to get a lot more because the grass swallows them up.

In other words for the thick and lush petal look, be prepared to dish a couple hundred on the real thing.

As long as it's not super windy you should be fine. The chairs will block some of the wind. I agree you should go with real flowers if you do this.

I plan on doing this for my beach wedding - I'm just going to get more than I think I need in case the sand swallows it or the wind blows it away. I think it's adorable! I just haven't decided if I'm going to do real petals or not.

We would we going with real pedals but the staining my dress slightly worries me! Maybe I opt for white instead of blush and my florist did bring up having the right amount of pedals is what makes or breaks the look which is fine! I just don't want to dish out that much money for pedals that will be across our farm by the time I walk down the aisle lol

    Tons of help! Thank you!

My friends wedding did this indoors. It was absolutely beautiful!

Outdoors you could possibly glue them to something stationary?

This depends on what your church will allow

Check with the venue first on what they will allow. Ours does not allow fake/silk petals. Must be able to be mulched/mowed over at the outdoor ceremony site.

I've not seen issues with them. Just when your dress catches & drags them down the aisle.

Our venue is our family farm so no problems there! The dragging of the flowers and the staining has me a bit worried. However I have been tossing around the idea of cutting my train (is that how you spell that?) anyway it's not that long to begin with and I don't like bustles so it would be more evening gown length which would be cute with my more casual wedding and cowboy boots thing I have going on anyway!

Maybe no train would lessen possible dragging is the pedals?

There's a way of cutting long strips of fabric and gluing the flower petals onto there if you want solid lines of flower petals. I'm not 100% how to do it but Google could probably tell you
