Flower Wall diy

Mrs. Belfon, on May 9, 2018 at 11:32 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 15
Hi Guys
i have taken on the task of making a flower wall!!! Anyone else having a flower wall or renting one? I love in Miami and I looked for a rental and starting at 600-1000 for a faux one of course... real would be thousands and die... waste of money. But I decided to DIY I.t myself with my sister/MOH & BFF/MatOH. I just say, it’s quite expensive to even DIY because quality silk flowers are expensive. But we wanted a intimate, romantic alter, that allows for views of the ocean behind I.t... and we can also use I.t for the reception as either our backdrop behind the table OR photobooth wall for guest. What are you guys thoughts? I’m sooooo excited!!!

I so wanted to make one as I love that look but even a DIY I think would be very expensive. Are the pictures you posted yours or your inspiration? i ended up making a PVC pipe frame (8 feet by 9 feet) and sewing various colors of fabrics (cream, lavender and rose) on it to make a fabric backdrop. That cost around $100 or so - not too bad and I'll sell it when i am done with it! Good Luck - come back and post final pictures of yours!

    Hi Jen,
my Inspo. But I have already purchased all the supplies and I.t cost me about $500. I used 2 8x4 foam boards for insulation. Bought 8 boxes of roses when I realized I.t wasn’t enough for $135 bought 12 sheets of faux flower mats for $300 and baseboard for the frames for $65. I.t is going to be huge. And for that size I.t would’ve cost me $1k to rent. I plan on selling I.t after I.t is made. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Yet. But please share your diy alter and I’ll be sure to share mine when I’m done. My aisle will be very minimilistic and I thought this would give my wedding that “expensive” wow factor look and a touch of personalization.

I think its beautiful and as long as you can justify it in your budget you should go for it! Good luck and can't wait to see how yours comes together!

I am having a flower wall and have that same pic as my inspiration pic. I ended up ordering panels from Shopwildthings.com..... way easier! All you have to do it’s attach the panels with cable ties.

Learned that the hard way lol. I ordered the second set from there. Cost me about $300 with free shipping. I’m hoping I.t matches the colors I want. I’m going to use both the free flowers and the mats. When is your wedding? Can’t wait to see yours please don’t forget to post.

    I love this idea!!

If you are gluing the flowers to foam, test your glue first!! I love E6000 but it eats through most styrofoam. Hot glue could work but you have to make sure your glue will adhere well to your flowers and your board. You don't want them to start falling off! If you use hot glue I would recommend high temp over low temp since it could melt the foam a bit which I find helps it adhere (at least that has been my experience for cosplay applications). If you do use E6000 or crazy glue or anything like that make sure you are crafting in a well ventilated area!

Hi Rachel. I’ll be using the stems and sticking them through the foam. And for the mats, adhering them with a similR method. No glue tho. That would make me anxious if they start falling off lol.

Hey! My goal is to DIY a flower wall backdrop as well. How do you plan on getting the wall to stand up on its own once all the flowers are in place? My biggest concern.

    Hi
I found a YouTube video like one of its kind cause no one else tells you how to get I.t to stand up. But anyway it’s like a bracket. I will link it in another post.
