Flower Wall

Julia, on July 6, 2021 at 7:51 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
What do y’all think of a flower wall for guests to take photos by? They’re pretty easy to DIY with the panels of them you can buy. But is it a good idea, or too much like prom with a backdrop? 🤯

I think it really depends! I've seen them done before and they looked really pretty! If you're worried about it looking to 'prom like' then you can always do a greenery wall with a few floral accents!

I think they’re pretty. But I agree that more greenery would make it feel more modern.

I love the idea of a flower wall but those pre-made panels look really cheap and absolutely awful up close. I wanted a flower wall but skipped it because there was no way to cost effectively do one that didn't look really tacky, IMO.

It’s personal preference. I like the look of them in general when they are done right and I’m old enough to not associate them with prom. Who knows. However I’m not into the artificial flower look so fresh flowers could be done if you went the fiftyflowers.com DIY route, but you still have to factor in your time and labor at minimum wage per hour.

One venue we looked at had a faux greenery half wall that they said was a popular as a photo wall, but I didn’t care for it personally.

We rented a faux peony wall for our wedding and it was a huge hit! We had guests taking photos in front of it all throughout the night.

I'm another person not hugely in favour of faux flowers, so wouldn't really like this. I think the real ones are beautiful, but prohibitively expensive.

They don't remind me of prom/formals - they remind me of the races, as here they're often used at big race-day events like Melbourne Cup etc, by big alcohol brands like moet, chandon etc.

I guess I'm saying as a concept, I like them, but the execution can look cheap if done poorly, and I'd prefer nothing to that, myself.
