Flowergirl but no ring bearer?

Lucy, on November 5, 2014 at 11:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

We have a FG all picked out. She's my 3 year old niece. But neither of our families have any young boys. Would it look weird to have a FG but no ring bearer? I feel like if they saw the FG coming down the aisle, they would expect to see the young boy too....

& if we don't have a RB, who takes the rings?

I think only having a FG would be fine. We are having 2 FGs and one RB. Bridal parties are so unique now days so do what makes you happy.

We are in the same boat just my niece (4 yo), We don't know any boys in the 4-7 range. Rings will go to the Best Man.

Its fine...just give the Best Man the rings to hold on to...we aren't having a ring bearer OR Flower Girl so thats who will be holding ours

ETA: In alot of weddings I have been to the ring bearer isn't even carrying the real rings for fear that he trips and they fall off or get lost and is the best man carrying them in his pocket. When the rings are needed, the RB steps up and its the best man who pretends to take the rings off the pillow when he's actually already got the real ones

Not at all. We have a ring bearer (our furbaby) and no FG. Its your wedding, you can do whatever you like. Its the one time you can get away with ridiculous requests. Lol.

We had a RB (who didn't touch the rings all night) and no FG. It worked out just fine. My FIL (Best Man) had both of the rings in his pocket. I trust a 70 year old man much more than I just a 5 year old boy.

Not at all. You can have one or both or you can rent my lovely beige poodle (she works cheap....).

I think I might have both of our mom's hold on to the rings and ask for them to give them to us...because we aren't doing a rb...but a couple of very cute flower girls (but they could also bring the rings down...or a groomsmen could hold onto the ring...whatevers). Smiley smile

We're not having a ring bearer because none of my little brothers/cousins seems to be in the right age range, so we're having the two junior bridesmaids present the rings. Not exactly traditional but it works!

We only had a ringbearer and no one though it was strange. Just have the Bestman keep the rings in his pocket an walk them.

I don't think it would be weird at all to just have the flower girl!

I had both and we tied the rings on a pillow in a box and the ring bearer lost the rings lol...my DOC found them as I was walking down the aisle, ran to the best man and gave them to him and I didn't know anything until after the wedding lol!
