Flowers and Quotes

Brianna, on February 5, 2022 at 12:28 PM Posted in Planning 5 16
Reaching the 6month mark means those $$$$ are stacking up quickly. My next hurdle is flowers for the bridal party and family. We want roses and hydrangeas, I love babies breath and the greens. I was quoted $300 for a bridal bouquet and I think that’s total bananas. $60-$100 for bridesmaids, $15 for a boutonnière, and $20 for a corsage.

Has anyone been quoted in the same area?

Where are you located? For my first wedding, I paid $250 for a very small bridal bouquet of calla lilies. For my second wedding, I used sunflowers (in season) and greenery and my bouquet was $125 I think. My bridesmaids bouquets were $75 each. Our bouts were $15 each and corsages were $40. Roses and hydrangeas can both be on the pricy side and especially with all costs going up right now for vendors, your quote doesn’t really surprise me.

The cost of your flowers will depend a lot on your location, season, and which flowers you pick. However, your quote seems almost exactly the same as mine.

My florist is charging:- $300 bridal bouquet- $85 each for bridesmaid bouquets- $30 each for corsages- $15 each for boutonnières

Our quote was $350 for the bridal bouquet, $100 for each bridesmaid bouquet, $25 for each corsage, $15 for each boutonnière, $60-75 for each low profile centerpiece, $150 for each tall centerpiece, and $150-175 for the head table centerpiece.

This seems pretty comparable (actually a bit cheaper) to my floral quote. My bridal bouquet is $375, bridesmaid bouquets are $125, boutonnières $20, and table centerpieces $150.

Here is a idea use babies breath only or only greenery for all of your brides maids.

Ask the florist for alternative flowers that will bring down the price. I really want peonies but my florist said they will be more expensive in March. She suggested ranunculus to get the look that I want for most of the arrangements and maybe a couple of peonies in my bouquet of I wanted.

I ended up buying wooden flowers with my colors of the wedding that included boutonnières and corsage’s that was under 150 for me. And they are beautiful plus my friend for her wedding did fake flowers that we all made and put together.

I’m purchasing a bouquet made out of wood flowers that will cost me $270 which is a little cheaper but pretty on par with what actual flowers would cost me. I see you’re in Brooklyn. I live about an hour north of you and for NY $300 isn’t bad Flowers and Quotes 1

I actually think for NY that price is pretty much the average. Seems a lot for flowers I know but it ll be hard to find exactly what you want for much cheaper than that. Happy planning!

I’m in NJ and was quoted $200 for a smaller size bouquet which I thought was absurd. $75 for low profile floral centerpieces which have more flowers than the bouquet. Would love a explanation why it’s more than double the price for less flowers other than it’s a bridal bouquet and we can rip you off. 🙄

There are flower shortages currently so florists are having to charge more since the demand is the same if not higher for certain flowers. I agree with everyone saying try to find seasonal and locally frowns flowers to bring your cost down! My personal opinion- don’t compromise on your bouquet but you can find alternatives for the bridal party!
