Flowers cost how much?!?!

All we're looking for are Bridal party flowers (bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, parents and grandparents, flower girl petals). In season, super simple. And three different people I've gotten quotes from are at least $800. Is this the typical price range?

    That is reasonable, honestly.

In my area (and Rachel could correct me because it's her area too)

    Bridal bouquets; 100--400+

    BM's 75-125

    bouts/corsages 15-25.

By the time you consider getting them yourself, conditioning them, arranging them, replacing the dead one and the time (which is probably four times what you think; I know, I did this), almost any floral quote is going to seem reasonable.

I know people use silk but it never looks real, and I have literally only seen one bouquet that didn't look cheap and kind of degraded the rest of the apparel and decor....) and really good fake ones will cost you as much, if not more than real ones and you still have to deal with them.

Disclaimer; I love flowers; I'd spend my last five bucks on roses, not bread.

I'm paying around $700 for mine. 6 bridesmaids, 11 bouts, 4 corsages. That also includes enough bulk flowers for the 20 centerpieces that we are doing ourselves and they are doing my $250 bridal bouquet for free.

Mine was about $700 for similar things, so I'd say extremely reasonable.

I would reccomend doing wholesale and making them yourself. Thankfully I have a friend who does bridal and floral arrangements.. so I just have to pay for the flowers which will be about 350.

That sounds reasonable. How big are your wedding parties and families? Assuming you are doing traditional florals and have both parents and both grandparents on both sides and five person wedding parties you are essentially asking for 6 bouquets, 6 wrist corsages, 12 boutonnieres, and petals for the flower girls. That's still a decent amount of flowers, and the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres all require labor and extra materials to put together.

For perspective, we are using a local florist and in season, organic flowers and the itemized cost for those items are $125 for a bridal bouquet, $85 for bridesmaids bouquets, and $12 each for boutonnieres. For the quantities listed above the cost would be $694 plus petals, assuming corsages and boutonnieres cost the same (I'm guessing corsages would be more because they usually have more flowers). So adjusting for a higher price for corsages and a bit extra for petals, $800 certainly seems reasonable.

Also, if you are getting similar quotes from three florists, I don't think they're trying to screw you over. It's probably a pretty accurate cost for flowers of a certain type, in a certain season, of a certain quality, and designed in a certain way.
